Providence Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A). Founded in 1747, our sanctuary is the oldest PCUSA place of worship in continual use in the state of Virginia. Our relaxed, small church with a big heart worships every Sunday at 11 am. All are invited to join us for services, and to stay for fellowship time and hearty snacks afterwards. There are children's bulletins, books and a playground for little ones--who are always welcome!

For those who are looking for ways to support the Nepalese people in the wake of the recent catastrophic flooding and landslides, consider Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.

The PDA website states:
"PDA has long-standing relationships with partners in Nepal.
An emergency grant from PDA is providing medicine kits, food items, shelter and more. As the needs change, PDA will support our partners through the long-term recovery phase."

We are so thankful for a joyful VBS last week! Fifty-five children and an abundance of volunteers filled every pew and aisle in our sanctuary and every room and chair in our Fellowship Hall/Preschool building. Thanks be to God for the children, and for the adults who welcome them!

All are welcome to our Maundy Thursday Tenebrae service:
April 2 at 7 pm.

"Tenebrae" means "shadows." The service, based on 12th century traditions, includes the gradual extinguishing of candles as Gospel readings, prayers and hymns centered on the shadows of the betrayal of Christ are offered.
We depart the service just after the sun sets, trusting in the enduring light of Christ and anticipating the joy of Easter.

We hope you will join us!
