Disagreement does not have to become division. We can walk in truth while extending grace, kindness, and love to one another.

A Thriving Church Prays

Paul didn't simply ask the church at Rome to think about him. He asked them to “strive together with me in prayers to God.”

Prayer was participation in the mission.

Paul was going to Jerusalem.
The offering was being carried.
The Gospel was moving forward.
Spain was on the horizon.

And the church in Rome could join Paul through prayer. We may not all go to the same places. We may not all have the same gifts.

But we can all pray.

A thriving church is a praying church. Romans 15:30

“May the God of peace be with all of you. Amen.”

A Thriving Church Is Generous

The churches of Macedonia and Achaia gave to help believers in Jerusalem who were in need. Paul said they were pleased to give.

Why?

Because they understood that they had received spiritual blessings, and they wanted to minister to others through their material blessings. Generosity isn't simply about giving money. It's about recognizing that what God has given us can become a blessing to someone else.

A thriving church looks beyond itself and asks:

“Who can we bless?”
