Psalm 91 makes an audacious promise: no evil will touch you, no plague will reach your tent, a thousand may fall beside you, and you’ll walk away untouched. Read it plainly, and it sounds almost like a spell—say the right words, trust hard enough, and harm can’t find you. But we’ve all stood at gravesides where that promise didn't seem to keep. Is the psalm lying to us, or have we been reading it too small? This week we go looking for what we’ve missed and what it might actually cost to stop visiting this promise and start living inside it.

Life Groups begin in September:

The Johnson Group begins Tuesday, September 8th at 6 pm in the Gathering Room. They will study the Book of Ecclesiastes. Bring a Bible.

The Worthy Warriors begin Wednesday, September 16th at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The will be studying Dr. Vander Laan's That the World May Know: He Heard Their Cries. Bring a Bible.

TONE begins Wednesday, September 9th at 10 am in the Auditorium. Fitness class for all abilities! Focus on mindful movement to work on flexibility, strength, and cardio.

Women’s Evening Bible Study begins Thursday, September 10th at 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Each week, we’ll come together to explore handpicked scripture passages that match our chosen theme. It’ll be a chance for all of us to share our thoughts, insights, and personal experiences as we reflect on how these verses connect to our lives. This will be a welcoming, discussion-led group where we can learn from one another in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Together, we’ll deepen our faith and build lasting friendships as we walk this journey side by side!

There are also ongoing Life Groups available:

Men’s Group meets on Monday evenings at 6 pm in the Gathering Room. Men are invited to join us for this ongoing life group that cultivates deep fellowship, promotes spiritual growth, and empowers you to live out your faith in tangible ways. Bring your Bible and come become the Godly man you were created to be.

Sisters In Christ meets Wednesday mornings at 10 am in the Fellowship Hall. Ladies, do you know what the Bible says about faith? Come and grow your faith and friendships while studying about faith in the Bible.

Adult Sunday School meets Sunday mornings at 9 am in the Fellowship Hall. Do you enjoy fellowship with other adults while diving deeper into God's word? Join our ongoing Sunday morning adult Sunday school class! This fun and friendly group meets year-round.

From the church garden today: okra, herbs, Swiss chard, bell peppers, a few banana peppers. and cucumbers. We also have had some beautiful large tomatoes and luffa gourds donated to us. Stand is at the Smokey Row Rd. entrance.
