Happy Monday! 😊

I had a great weekend and was a little tired when I woke up to start the new week, but after I read this short devotion I was energized! Hoping you will be blessed as well when you read it. The focus verse…“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24, is a verse that Ronnie and I like to say to our daughter Jenny when we greet her smiling face in the mornings…😊

ChristFollowerLife Devotional...

Yesterday, my dad went in for a full checkup.
A little over a year ago, he went through major surgery after doctors found severe atherosclerosis in one of the arteries in his neck. He spent ten days unconscious afterward, so these checkups still make us a little nervous.
Yesterday, the doctor looked over everything and said: “Everything looks good.”
No long explanation. Nothing dramatic.
Just the kind of sentence you’re very thankful to hear.
This morning, I keep thinking about how easy it is to rush through an ordinary day, when simply waking up feeling well and having a normal day is sometimes exactly what we once prayed for.
So this verse feels especially close this morning:
"This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
May you find something simple to be thankful for today.

Wednesday 19 our first day of Ladies Bible studies for the fall!! 😊 What an incredible line up we have...check them out on this page, on our FBC website, or in our church newsletter. We have a Wednesday morning class and three classes each Wednesday night. And don't forget we have a Tuesday evening Bible study starting September 8. If you have never been involved in a Ladies Bible study you have missed out, come join any of our classes and you will be blessed!! ☺️ There is a lot of connecting and encouraging happening, and we ALL need that.

Let's spread that Sonshine with our smiles while we study the Bible together! ☺️

A big shout out to Jessica and ALL the wonderful volunteers that helped make VBS…Vacation Bible School…a HUGE success!! 😊 I would love to name them all, but there is no way to thank everyone that helped because there were soooooo many people that took time out of their busy schedule to hang out with a lot of kids and teach them about the Nature of God at Rainforest Fall! We are so very blessed at FBC Greenwood! Check out the Greenwood FBC Children's Ministry page and see all the smiles from adults and kids a like…a good time was had by all! It doesn’t take a lot to make someone smile 😊 There were plenty of smiles every night…I know that our praise and worship, Bible lessons, and games made God smile! 😊 He created all of us for His pleasure.

Good day ladies! I’m in NC visiting my MIL and what a time we’ve had! I wanted to pass along something that I read this morning, I think of it often, but it was brought to my attention during my time with the Lord…”Our choices matter…If we want to truly live like Jesus, we have to pursue our friends and enemies with agape love – selfless, unconditional, forgiving, and relentless love. Our determination to seek their interest will show them that Jesus’ alternative society is one worth embracing. It will keep our perspective on what matters most: the power of Jesus in us to bring healing to a broken world.… Our actions are on display. People are watching. Do we want them to see fleshly, selfish behavior, or do we want them to see Jesus?”
I want people to see Jesus, so I ask myself…do they? Even on the bad days…do people see Jesus in me? Let’s ponder that.

Summer Bible studies…are you involved in one? I’ve asked Brittany to forward this link so that if you aren’t involved in one, you can look at this study by Anne Graham Lotz and her daughter Rachel Ruth, a study about Joseph and his struggles and how God won’t leave you there in your struggles. Maybe this is a study that will bless and encourage you.

Hey ladies! Summer is here and it’s a great time to spread Sonshine wherever you go!! Share your smile wherever you go! Share a laugh with whoever you come in contact with! Share Jesus with the world…with a smile and words of encouragement! 😊 As Women’s ministry coordinator I plan…key word…”plan” (maybe you could pray with me about my role as WM coordinator and posting on FB lol) on posting/sharing on Facebook more consistently than ever before…I love to encourage women in their walk with the Lord and one of the ways I love to encourage is through texting…but I can reach and encourage more ladies on Facebook…so ladies here I come!! lol 😊 With all that being said, I have to confess…I will be asking someone to post for me, for some reason, I just don’t like “posting”. I will pass on tidbits of encouragement or information concerning events or things that are taking place within our WM at FBC Greenwood, or perhaps ministry events somewhere close that you might be interested in.

So let me introduce you to Brittany Faux…we had a conversation and she was willing and available to work with me on Facebook…and I so appreciate her helping me!! 😊 Brittany grew up attending Greenwood FBC and gave her life to Christ at a young age. During high school, she became involved in the student ministry and developed a heart for missions through serving in Nicaragua over the past three years. She is excited to step into this new role with the women’s ministry and hopes this page will be a place where women feel encouraged, supported, and inspired as they grow in their faith together.

I leave you with this ladies…in January 2026 I wanted to have a spiritual focus that I could continue to ponder and come back to from time to time, so I chose a year verse that I’d like to share with you…”Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’” I Peter 1:13-16 Three words I want to focus on and ponder in 2026 especially. “Prepare”...I want to prepare myself to live in this world, not to live selfishly for myself, but prepared to stand for Jesus. “Grace”…I want to know and live out God’s grace, to show others what His grace has done in my life. “Obedient”…As a child of God, I want to live in obedience to His Word, easier said than done, but I want to work on my obedience to my Savior.😊

Oh Ladies, what a glorious event! God was honored and women were blessed! Between the singing of praises, the fun and laughter of connecting with other ladies, and our speaker, Jeana Floyd sharing her testimony and challenging us about our prayer life...God was obviously present and working!!

Shout out to ALL the volunteers that made this special afternoon happen...FBC Greenwood received a huge blessing!
