OneBody International

OneBody International We are a family from South Carolina who the Lord has called to move to Taiwan to begin OneBody International - disciples making disciples.

The Lord spoke very clearly to me (Clay) back in 1999 while on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas (yes, it’s a real town) that His desire for me was to spend my life for the sake of His Kingdom in Asia. After months of saying “no” and trying to ignore His voice by waiting it out, He used the famous passage from Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, d

eclares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.” I finally said “Ok, if that’s really what you want for me, then I’m willing.” and everything changed. After I graduated, I moved to Taichung, Taiwan and lived there for 3 years introducing people to Jesus and making disciples. Rhonda and I served on the same team in Taiwan after she also heard from the Lord that her life would be spent overseas for His Kingdom. After those 3 years I moved back to the States and out to Greenville, SC where Rhonda is from. We married in 2007 and now have 3 beautiful princesses: Charis Elianah, Meili Rhema, and Liliana Aria, and are really excited about this next step in our journey! We know that the Lord has great plans and we are honored to play a small part. We would love for you to join us on this journey.

As 2020 is winding down, we would really appreciate you praying about and considering us (OneBody) for a year end tax deductible financial gift (link below). We know that this time of year you are inundated with emails from all sorts of websites and stores on the best deals out there for the holidays. We don’t want to be another one of those. We just want you to know that your partnership makes a difference in people’s lives here. It helps people to know Jesus. It helps us get into people’s lives and invite them into ours and show them how follow Jesus and empower them to do that. It’s happening with families at our girls school, in companies, and with cultural influencers!

Today is Ghost Day..the main holiday during ghost month. Here’s an article that explains the belief behind it. This month can feel especially heavy and oppressive as the spiritual battle around us is being fought here in Taiwan. Please pray for protection and for Jesus to be made known here. Here is an excerpt from the article

“In Chinese culture, it is thought that all ghosts will come out from the hell on the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, so the day is called the Ghost Day and the seventh lunar month is the Ghost Month.”

“But different from these festivals, the Ghost Festival is the day that all ghosts will come out to visit the livings. Also, people only offer sacrifices to their ancestors and relatives on the above festivals, while during the Ghost Festival, besides ancestors and relatives, people will offer sacrifices to all the ghosts or spirits. So, it's also called the Hungry Ghost Festival. The Hungry Ghost Festival is regarded as the most important one among all the festivals that offering sacrifices the deceased.“

The Ghost Festival or Hungry Ghost Festival (also known as Zhongyuan Festival by Taoists or Yu Lan Pen Festival by Buddhists) is the day to sacrifice to the deceased.
