Good morning, Church

I want to express my gratitude for the many
godly women that have been, and currently
are, a part of my life. May God richly bless
each of you on this Mother’s Day.

“Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, for they
are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.” – Proverbs 1:8-9
God’s ideal plan for raising children is reflected in the above verse. Your Father’s Instruction and Your Mother’s teaching.

I would like to remind us that being a parent, whether it be a father or a mother, is far
more than merely sharing information with others.

I want us to reflect for a moment on the thought of “Your Mothers Teaching”.
When it comes to moms they may convey the same information that Dad does, however, when mom says it, her love, compassion, caring and understanding is the message that we hear the loudest. Her love for us has been demonstrated countless times.

A mother’s kiss heals and soothes in a way that a bandaid never could. A mother’s hug goes a long way in healing a broken heart. A mother’s tear has the ability to capture both abundant joy as well as abundant sorrow.

Thank you mom, you play a unique role in teaching us about God’s love.
Peace and Blessings, Pastor Clyde

Good morning, Church,

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church:
the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the
pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to
equip God’s people to do his work and build up the
church, the body of Christ. . Eph 4:11-12 NLT

Pastor, Minister, Preacher, are all titles that I have been called. These terms signify the role or position that I hold in my relationship with a local church. Although we have
one lead pastor, no pastor can effectively and efficiently carry out the ministry by himself.

I want to tell you how much I appreciate the many different ministries that we have here at LABC. I want to strongly encourage every person to be engaged in some aspect of our ministry.

Let me again take the opportunity to remind us of the various teams that we have:
Worship, Discipleship, Missions, GRO, Pastoral Care, Fellowship, Administration, Facilities, and Soup 4 the Soul. Within the next nine weeks, you will be hearing from the various team leaders on Sunday morning as they give you an overview of their
team and ways in which they serve the Body and community.

I am asking each of you to prayerfully consider where God would have you serve.

Peace and Blessings, Pastor Clyde

Good morning, Church,

I really enjoy these parables in Luke.
They are very diverse and so impactful.
Today’s parable is no exception.

While visiting the home of Zacchaeus,
Jesus shares the parable of the talents with the gathered crowd. The following description comes from Chuck Swindoll. “He has entrusted us with gifts, opportunities, relationships, abilities, experiences, training, skills, and other things we like to call ‘mine.’ All of these are investments given for the purpose of yielding heavenly fruit in our earthly realm. The time He’s given us
between the first and second coming of Christ gives us each an opportunity to put this spiritual capital to use. The Master has gone to receive authority to rule the earth and will return in power. He expects us to invest well rather than sit on our minas. These facts should shape our minute-by-minute decisions as we
passionately seek to invest in the coming kingdom.”

Let us ask ourselves, “Am I multiplying the talents the Father has given to me?”

Peace and Blessings, Pastor Clyde
