Greenwood Methodist Church Our Mission:
Giving God the glory
Making passionate disciples
Changing lives through witness and love “When you look at Greenwood on a map, you see only a dot.

You cannot see the love, beauty, dedication, and proud heritage of this small church community, located two miles southeast of Tusculum, just off Highway 107, in Greene County” (Dorothy Howe Vest, 1983, The History of Greenwood Methodist Church). At Greenwood, we continue to live in the roots planted so long ago by our founders. While the faces of our members may have changed over the years, our m

ission statement continues to point to Christ as we GROW closer to God, UNITE in His love, MAKE disciples for Christ, and CHANGE lives.

On this Holy Trinity Sunday we were once again blessed by our children and youth. Every 5th Sunday the kids present service, from the lighting of the candles to carrying the flame out into the world.
The kids gave us some Biblical jokes at children’s time, and our message was given by Hannah Taylor. God surely speaks through her.
Romans 12:2 “A New Perspective”
What do you see when you look at a stylus?
To an ant it is huge, an elephant can barely see it. It’s useless on paper but invaluable on a computer.
How do YOU see things? When you renew your spirit, you must renew your mind. If you are a Redeemed Child of God, you should be seeing them through Christ’s perspective, with the help of the Holy Spirit. Our strength is accomplished through Jesus for His glory.

This past Thursday the Pastor, children and their teachers got together for Planting with the Pastor.
This is phase # 1 of their plan to raise garden vegetables to share.

Pentecost is an important day in the Christian life. A day we remember that when Jesus ascended, He promised us a Helper, and He came: The Holy Spirit!
What better way to celebrate this day than our youth confirming their faith through Confirmation and Baptism. Congratulations to the newly confirmed: Carolina Jones, Shelby (Harrison) York, Harper Neas, Ainsley Neas, Wesley Berrier, and Micah Justis. Each one received a personalized Bible. Pastor Doug, Meredith Haynes, Kim
Whittenburg, and Tom Berrier guided them through this journey.
After worship, Shelby was baptized, showing the world, that she belongs to Jesus. We are so proud of the path these young people are following. These days are not easy or promised. However, the love of Jesus will last beyond eternity.

To be a New Creation! “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

2 Corinthians 5:14a “For the love of Christ compels us,”. Compels us: funnels us, presses on us from every side, keeps us on the narrow path and presses us together to hold each other accountable. God’s direction presses you into the life of Christ, into discipleship with others. Don’t be a new creation and live in your old life. It’s time to walk as Redeemed Children of God, because the most important thing in your life will be when you meet Jesus.
Read: 2 Corinthians 5:12-21; Galatians 2:20, 6:15; Ephesians 4:24; Colossians 3:10; Lamentations 3: 22-23.
