Greenwood Methodist Church Our Mission:
Giving God the glory
Making passionate disciples
Changing lives through witness and love “When you look at Greenwood on a map, you see only a dot.

You cannot see the love, beauty, dedication, and proud heritage of this small church community, located two miles southeast of Tusculum, just off Highway 107, in Greene County” (Dorothy Howe Vest, 1983, The History of Greenwood Methodist Church). At Greenwood, we continue to live in the roots planted so long ago by our founders. While the faces of our members may have changed over the years, our m

ission statement continues to point to Christ as we GROW closer to God, UNITE in His love, MAKE disciples for Christ, and CHANGE lives.

Set Apart!
📖 Psalm 4:3

Join us this Sunday as we reflect on what it means to be set apart for God—chosen, called, and distinguished as His people. What a beautiful reminder that God knows those who belong to Him and calls us to live differently for His glory.

🍞🍷 We will also celebrate Holy Communion together as we remember Christ’s sacrifice and the grace that makes us His.

We would love to have you worship with us!

Blessings!

What a blessing this morning during Youth Sunday! We have some very talented young people who can sing, deliver a sermon message, and talk in front of the congregation.

Special thanks to Micah for reminding us during the message that Jeremiah 29:11 tells us God already has a plan for our life. Plans for peace, hope, and a future. God never promised everything would be easy, but He did promise He’d be there with His hand stretched out ready to guide us.

Micah also reminded us that in Romans 8:28, everything will be worked out for God’s goodness and glory. Your life or the things you do does not always have to be perfect. Christ is the only perfect! As long as we are following God’s path and living as a redeemed child of God, our light will keep shining.

And as the children sang at Children’s Time, Lord we lift your name on high!

August 16
Colossians 3 : 12-17
The Ministry of Word and Deed.
1 Peter 4 : 7-11
1 Peter 2 : 1-7
You are a chosen generation! The elect of God.

Psalm 119 : 11 = Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.
When you have a problem, do you run to the world or do you run to the Word? Remember in Malachi, God said, “I do not change.”

Colossians reminds us, “But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your heart.” Thank goodness we belong to the God of Glory!

Children’s Time reminded us of the Good Samaritan - God did not promise an easy road, but no matter what, always be the one to shine your light for Jesus toward others.

Thank you to our amazing Sunday school teachers for the creation craft with our kids.
