Did you know: being a Backpack Buddy does not have to cost you a penny! Yes, we did include some favorite ideas for those who might want to surprise their buddy with an occasional treat, but gifts are NOT required. What we want most is prayer over our students and relationship building. Whether it’s just being intentional about saying “Hello” and asking about how your buddy’s week went on a Sunday morning, or shooting a text midweek to let them know you’re praying for them, there are so many ways to connect. Pray and let the Spirit guide how you might best show your buddy that they are loved and matter. How are you being intentional connect with your buddy this month?

We are SO EXCITED to bring back Children’s Bible Quizzing this year! The 2026-2027 year will cover the book of Exodus. Bible quizzing is an excellent way to really dive deep into scripture and help your child hide God’s word in his/her heart. We need to know ASAP if your child plans to participate so that we can order enough materials! Reach out to Pastor Andrea with any questions or comment below to get signed up!

Snacks, snacks and more snacks! This Sunday, between the nursery and NazKidz church, nearly 40 snacks were consumed. Experience has taught us that hungry bellies have a harder time listening- and we never want a child to miss out on learning about Jesus because of a grumbling tummy! Children are given a snack every Sunday and Wednesday. At the rate we go through snacks, frequent snack donations are needed for both the nursery and NazKidz area. We would like to encourage every family that is able to send snacks to share at least once every 6-8 weeks. Individually packaged snacks work best and we would especially appreciate items that are not fruit snacks, as we do currently have a large stock of those.

Now that VBS is over, it’s time to gear up for the new school year! We have so much in store, but we need your input AND want to keep you informed. Please join us THIS Wednesday, August 12th promptly at 7:30 pm. We will talk about all the upcoming activities and opportunities for your kids (and you!) to get involved AND open up the floor for questions, ideas, and anything else relating to our NazKidz you’d like to discuss!

I need to give this AMAZING group of volunteers one final shout out! So much goes into VBS, starting months ahead of time and of course many, many hours the actual week of. Many volunteers still worked their full time day jobs and then high tailed it to the church to spend their evenings shining the light of Jesus on these kids! We may still be recovering for a few more days- but it was worth it! If you see a member of this team, be sure to tell them “Thanks!”

Our kids doubled their goal of $700 and raised over $1,400 for Kids Blessing Kids to help with school needs in Belize- contributing over 20% toward the Kansas Nazarene District goal- proud is an UNDERSTATEMENT! And I know a lot of that is thanks to parents as well- but the number of kids who told me they did some chores for offering money, dumped their whole piggy banks, or called family to ask for help absolutely overwhelmed my heart. So yes, they got to toss me (Pastor Andrea) and Kevin in the pool- but it was a well deserved victory for the kids and I would take the “punishment” again in a heartbeat for these amazing kiddos (but yes…I am zooming in to see who pushed me instead of Kevin and I might have a special kind of love for the sweet little souls so worried about me all week, that refused to help push me in 😂💕).

Come celebrate with us! Tomorrow morning during the 10:30 am worship service, families are invited to hear the kids sing and share about our week. Tomorrow evening our church and community families are invited to join us for an all ages swim party celebrating an amazing week of VBS and the end of summer from 6-8 at Club West pool. Come see Pastor Andrea and Mr Kevin get thrown in after meeting our offering goal!
