I fail to understand why people are so obsessed with fall. It’s literally a season of death. Trees shed their leaves, grass turns brown, and happiness itself seems to die.

Whether you agree with me or not, scripture paints a clear picture of what our Christianity should look like. Psalm 1:3 tells us that the person who delights in God’s Word is, “like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.”

Our Christianity should always be growing and yielding fruit. We should desire to be the people God wants us to be, and find delight in His Word.

Even though the world around us is going through a time of withering and death, the man/woman of God should always remain nourished and healthy.

Don’t be like fall. Fall is the worst.

The instructions on the package for these cookies said to cook them for 10-12 minutes...this is what happens when you forget and leave them in for almost an hour.

We have been given life instructions to help us reach our designed end. If we fail to follow them we will never be seen as useful by God.

It is my daily prayer that we will always strive to live by The Word so that we can be seen as men and women of God that are thoroughly equipped (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

P.S. Don’t be a burnt cookie.

It can be easy to feel overwhelmed with everything going on in this world. Just a friendly reminder that as Christians we must “set our minds on things above” (Col. 3:2). The more we think about the world, the less time we have to dwell on what’s truly important. Love you all!

You have probably noticed some cities and counties in Alabama have started mandating the use of face masks while in public places to slow down the spread of COVID-19. Madison County has announced today that they will be implementing this health order beginning Tuesday at 5:00 P.M.

The elders at Hebron want to strongly encourage everyone in our congregation to wear a face covering or mask in the building, especially while we are singing beginning Wednesday night. We feel this is the best thing to do to keep everyone as safe as possible and still be able to worship and study together. If Marshall County mandates the face mask policy, we will definitely abide by the law and wear them the entire service, except for the short time we take the communion on Sunday morning.

Remember, people are discouraged to be a part of large, social gatherings. Some people aren't taking this Pandemic seriously, but we feel we should approach it cautiously for the safety and health of everyone in our congregation. We appreciate your cooperation.

Thank you,
The Elders
