We have been doing some cleaning and organizing at the church. Eric decided to move his office upstairs so we moved the church library and organized the music room. We sorted through over 40 years of book accumulation. It was a big job! This room will be used for music rehearsals and counseling. It can also double as a Sunday school room and the couch is sleeper so we can have guests stay there. ❤️

Just GO
Jen McGee

This week, whenever your church doors are open, go.

If you are physically able, shut off the livestream and attend in person. You can’t hug someone or smile at them from behind your screen.

When you’ve majorly slacked-off lately and worry about what people think, just go anyways.

When it seems you’re the most exhausted and unmotivated on Sunday mornings, just make yourself get up and go.

When your kids lose shoes and socks and fight and argue more on Sundays than any other day, and make you late, just show-up late.

When you show up, instead of wondering who will talk to you, go find someone you can talk to instead.

Instead of wondering who will encourage you, go intentionally find someone that you can encourage.

If there’s a lack of volunteers or a need, choose to serve with a sweet spirit and a smile.

Try your best to not sit under the singing with your mouth and heart closed and a scowl on your face. Make a joyful noise to the Lord. It’s the least He deserves.

When the pastor preaches, don’t mentally get out your cue cards to rate it 1-10. Instead, open your Bible and seek to gain at least 1 thing you can meditate on or 1 thing you can change in your life that will make you a more effective Believer in Christ. Remember - one of the most influential sermons in history was read word-for-word in a a boring tone by Jonathan Edwards. Yet it was the catalyst for the Great Awakening. If you don’t quench Him, the Holy Spirit can speak through anyone. Actively listen and learn and implement.

When the service is over, don’t think of the mistakes you saw on the screens or bulletins, the person who passed you without saying “hi”or tell others what would have made the service better. Instead, thank those who spent so much time on the service prep. Tell others what a joy it was to have the privilege of meeting corporately.

After all, let’s not forget a time not long ago when our freedom to worship was in jeopardy seemingly overnight. Let’s not forget many of our dear brothers and sisters in Christ who are right now under persecution for worshipping Christ or who have to meet in secret.

It seems many American Christians have become more and more spiritually unmotivated. Sometimes you just have to make yourself get up and go. Be faithful until the end. Do not retire from Christianity. Our world…our spouses…our kids…our grandkids…they NEED us to serve Jesus with abandon until the day He calls us home. Oh yeah, “and so much the MORE, as ye see the day approaching.”

Hebrews 10:25

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
