This September 11th is the 25th Anniversary of September 11th, 2001. At 2:00 on the 11th we invite everyone to join us for a worship service of prayer and music. The service will feature a number of our church musicians: Sue Kerr, Dave Berger, members of Higher Ground and Deacon Jamie. Pastor Tawanda and Deacon Jamie will lead the service. It will also serve as our Golden Age program for September.

We don't know who had more fun, Deacon Jamie or the kiddos!
Did you know that Sharon has a play room/nursery with toys like these carts (well, not the big one that Jamie has). It is also a great place to bring kids to play and relax. We also have a Children's Library with many books for kids of all ages. And as always, kids are welcome to participate in worship.

Sharon members and friends. Christus Rex, the Lutheran Campus Ministry at UND provides space for a free lunch to students and community on Fridays during the school year. They look to congregations and groups to help provide and serve the meals. They have openings on September 11 & 18. If anyone is interested in putting together a group of friends to provide the food and serve or if you have questions please contact Deacon Jamie at Sharon and he will connect you with those in charge.

Sharon Lutheran’s Backpack Program

We are now accepting donations again for Ben Franklin Elementary School to provide children in low-income families with extra food during the whole school year. We will pack monthly on the second Sunday of each month. The first packing event will be on September 13th. We invite you to join us by donating the following items:

Ramen Noodles
Macaroni & Cheese
Juice Boxes (no Capri/Kool Aid pouches)
Instant Oatmeal Packets (nut-free)
Applesauce/Fruit Cups (no fruit snacks)
Soup (must have pull-open top)
Ravioli (canned and with pull-open top),
Small Bags of Potato Chips

You can drop these at the church in the boxes marked for the Backpack Program. For questions, please contact the Community Connections Team or Pastor Tawanda.
