MANY PARTS, ONE BODY
Friday June 12, 2026
1 Corinthians 12:27 - You are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
READ: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: I have a unique part to play in the life of Christ's church.
Each member of the church is important. Each has a part to play as they use their spiritual gifts and share their time, talents, and resources. The community of believers is the body of Christ, and each member of that body is important, with a unique purpose and function. We should never think that we, or others in the body, don't matter because of the spiritual gift or ministry we do or do not have. After all, "God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body."
PRAYER: Dear God, thank you for making each of us a part of the body of Christ. Help us to remember that we are important s that we do our part in helping the church function the way it should. Amen.

SPIRIT THAT GIVE'S LIFE

Isaiah 32:15 -The Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God's Spirit gives me life.
PRAYER: God of abundant life, we thank you for making us whole through the gifts of breath and of your Spirit. Amen.

UNWELCOME GUESTS

Matthew 6:19 - Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal.
READ: Matthew 6:19-21
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Where my treasure is, there my heart will be also.
If we replace our old ways with good attitudes, habits, and behaviors, such as compassion, regular devotion times, and acts of love, we will be securing our treasure in heaven.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help us to value your eternal rewards more than earthly riches. May we do what pleases you and leads others to new life. Amen.

Ephesians 1:7-9 - In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Gratitude for God's forgiveness helps me release my burdens.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, when we are overwhelmed by our trouble, help us to remember all that you've done for us and that we are forgiven. Amen.

GOD'S WORK IN PROGRESS
Monday June 8, 2026
2 Corinthians 3:18 - We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
READ: 2 Corinthians 3:4-18
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God not only wants to work through me but in me.
All of us, no matter our experience, gifts, skills, and talents, are God's works in progress. We're always "being transformed into [the Lord's] image with ever-increasing glory." As servants of God, may our primary focus be the work God does in us, not simply through us. May we be humble enough to open our hearts to the Holy Spirit's transforming work so that our ministry reflects the glory of the Lord.
PRAYER: Merciful God, even if we have been Christians for a long time, we are still far from being like Jesus. May we be open to your spirit as it transforms us day by day. Amen.
