Nov 1 All Saints Sunday: Join us as we observe All Saints Sunday, a special time to remember and
give thanks for the loved ones who have passed away. Together, we will honor their lives,
celebrate the faith they shared with us, and give thanks for the lasting impact they have made on
our hearts and lives. We invite you to join us for this meaningful time of remembrance,
reflection, and hope in Christ.

Nov 2 Church Charge Conference: Monday, at 4 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Church Council
members are encouraged to attend this important annual meeting with our District
Superintendent. We will review the church’s ministry, receive reports, and set goals for the
coming year. This year, we will also present and vote on the new Leadership Board. Your participation is important as we prepare for the future of our church!

Nov 3 Mid-term Election Day: "As people of faith, our responsibility to participate in the democratic
process is deeply intertwined with our call to love our neighbors and seek the common good."
We encourage you to go vote! (Quote comes from Global Board of Church and Society)

Nov 7 Lord’s Acre: at the Community Center 11:30. Turkey dinner is $15. A Silent Auction, Country Cupboard and Raffle will also be going on. All proceeds go to fund missions. *Turkeys
delivered by 8:30, sliced in a foil pan, covered, and gently heated. Small pieces of turkey please
bring in a Ziploc bag. No Broth, Giblets, or Livers. *Desserts delivered by 10:00am. Mark if
dessert is for the meal or for the county cupboard. Note: if you are not using disposable pan,
please remember to label your dish, they will be available at the church on Sunday after the
Lord’s Acre.

Nov 10 Exodus & Deuteronomy Bible Study: 10-11:30AM. The final session last session into
(Date Chng) a deeper look at scripture as Rev. Dr. Starr Bowen leads an engaging 8-week study of
Exodus and Deuteronomy.
Nov 11 Veteran’s Day, Thank you for your service to our country!

Nov 13 Fun Friday Friends: United Women in Faith will meet at Bent Bucket Bakery, Lipan at
11:30AM. UWF meets the 2nd Friday of each month.

Nov 17 Gordon Long-term Recovery Team Meeting: 9:00AM in the Fellowship Hall

God’s light shines even in our darkest moments as we await the birth of Jesus.

In most cases, the conference charge consists of the church council members. The primary responsibilities of the charge conference in the annual meeting include evaluating the total
ministry of the church, receiving reports from church committees and the pastor, and
adopting goals for the next year that align with the objectives of The United Methodist
Church.” This year our charge conference will also be where the new Leadership Board is
presented, approved, and voted on by the conference.

Nov 7 Lord’s Acre: Saturday, 11:30AM-1:00PM at the Community Center. Lord’s Acre is
more than a fundraiser for Missions and Evangelism; it brings our congregation together as
one body in Christ’s service and love. It’s a fun and meaningful way to share your gifts,
support our missions, and connect with church and community members! We need volunteers
to serve as cashiers, cooks, bakers, greeters, hostesses, decorators, and kitchen staff, as well as
help with the Country Cupboard and setup/breakdown. How can your gifts and talents serve
this year? If you haven’t already signed up, please contact Karen Clifton. Every helping hand
makes a difference!

Prayer of Confession and Words of Assurance
One: Merciful God, we get so caught up in our own lives and needs that we fail to see others… alone, alienated, who are imprisoned either in cells with bars or in conditions of hopelessness and poverty that they see no way out; to welcome the stranger and reach out to those who are margin-alized; to always bring your words of healing and redeeming love.
Many: We have failed in these tasks – we ignore the opportunities and claim that we are too busy to help, too busy to care. How this attitude must sadden you, O Lord. You lavish your gifts upon us that we might use them for the betterment of your realm, and we treat them as inconveniences. Forgive us, O God. Forgive us and heal our wounds of greed and selfishness. Let us greet this day when the hope of the Reign of Christ can be made manifest and we can be part of this glorious kingdom of peace and compassion. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. AMEN.

Oct 25 McMurry Sunday: Join us this Sunday as we welcome McMurry University students and the McMurry Chaplain, Rev. Ricky Harrison, for our “Coffee and Treats” time at 10:30AM in the fellowship hall and worship at 11AM in the sanctuary. These college students and Rev. Harrison are coming to share about their Spiritual Formation Pilgrimage
to El Salvador that our church and United Women in Faith donated $1,500 towards.
