This week is Homecoming Sunday! Join us Sunday, September 13, beginning with worship at 9:30 AM.

Homecoming Sunday kicks off our Fall programming, and we're celebrating with music, fellowship, and a whole lot of Valley spirit! The Valley Choir will sing, Matt Weiss will join us on guitar and vocals, and Valley's VBC kids will share their talents. And of course, Fellowship Hour wouldn't be complete without Funner Bros. donut holes. After you've grabbed your donut and signed up to help with one of our many ministries this fall, join us upstairs in the Cornerstone Room for Adult Education at 11:00 AM; childcare is available. Come join us this fall and see why we call Valley home!

It's Mission Monday! Today, we are highlighting an upcoming Adult Education Forum made possible by Valley's Indigenous Justice Task Force. On Sunday, September 20th, 11:00 am - 1:30 pm, we welcome Samuel Torres, Ed.D. | Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition.

This session intends to explore the work and scope of this national movement for truth, justice, and healing from the U.S. Indian boarding school system. NABS is a leading national organization dedicated to advocating on behalf of Native peoples impacted by U.S. Indian boarding school federal policies and its collaboration with Christian faith communities.

Seeking truth through education and research, justice through advocacy and policy, and healing through Indigenous teaching and traditional gatherings, NABS recognizes that the historical and contemporary impacts of this history require intergenerational strategies and a collective approach that includes all of us.

This special presentation is sponsored by Valley’s Indigenous Justice Taskforce and will be held from 11:00 am-1:30 pm in the Cornerstone Room.
A light lunch will be served, and childcare is available.

Just because it's the State Fair doesn't mean we can miss highlighting our amazing Mission Partners! This week we want to shine a light on a partner doing important work for the kids in our community who headed back to school this week: Every Meal

The mission of Every Meal is to fight child hunger through community and school partnerships. The program provides supplemental food to children and families who are eligible for free/reduced lunch during the school year. Just like kids need physical things like backpacks and pencils to learn, they also need to have food to eat as well as the confidence that they have a next meal coming for them and their siblings. Every Meal is working to bridge this gap for families who need it. Visit Every Meal social media pages or website (https://www.everymeal.org/) to learn more about the organization.

The 15th season of our Fridays in the Valley concert series begins September 11th at 7:00 pm and will benefit this amazing partner! All are welcome to attend. The concert of free and a free-will donation is collected to benefit the organization.

Each week we like to highlight an action or program from within our denomination that reaches folks around the country. “Evicting the American Dream, ” is a PC(USA) documentary examining the root causes and systems that lead children and families to be evicted from their homes, has earned an Award of Excellence from the IMPACT DOCS Awards.
The documentary, which has been seen by thousands of people in grassroots screenings around the country and is also available through streaming, is a project of Stories Productions, the Story Ministry of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. FAITH IN ACTION FRIDAY!
How does our faith call us to engage in the public square?
Gather online with other Presbyterians across the country on August 26 to explore how our Christian faith calls us to wrestle with current issues of voting rights, election integrity, and public policy.

You'll hear from speakers who will discuss how we can educate, organize and advocate from a place of Reformed faith, and we'll engage in dialogue to discuss next steps you can take in your community.

It's Monday, and that means another chance to highlight one of our amazing Mission Partners: Community Emergency Assistance Programs (CEAP).

Valley volunteers deliver meals the 3rd and 4th Thursday of every month from 10:00 - 11:30 AM. We are in need of drivers to support this ministry, so if you are interested in volunteering with Meals on Wheels, please contact Gail Smith (3rd Thurs drivers) or Marge Thurston (4th Thurs drivers). You can also contact the Church Office at 763-588-0831.

According to their website, the CEAP Meals on Wheels program "serves 350 seniors in 9 cities and is a member organization of Meals on Wheels America. CEAP Meals on Wheels provides hot, nutritious, lunchtime meals for seniors and for individuals who are not able to prepare meals or leave their homes. For some, Meals on Wheels is a temporary solution while they recuperate from illness or surgery. For others, it provides a long-term opportunity to maintain independence. Participants contribute financially per meal, and subsidy funds are available for those in financial need."

Learn more about CEAP by checking them out on social media or visiting their website (www.ceap.org/).
