THIS SUNDAY AT DHBC:

Join us on Sunday morning for one of our two worship services (8:30 or 10:30am), as Pastor Robb Brunansky continues with our study of spiritual gifts from 1 Corinthians 12.

Then, come back at 6pm for a special prayer meeting and social hour, which will be led by our Elder Candidate, Paul Theisen. After the prayer meeting, we'll have root beer floats outside for a time for attendees to talk to Paul and Kelly Theisen ahead of the October Congregational Meeting. We hope you will make plans to attend this event.

This past weekend, Bob Jones had the opportunity to preach at African Inland Church Tanzania in Niangulugulu - a village outside of Mwanza. He taught on Ephesians 1:3-14. Praise the Lord for all the ministry accomplished by Bob and Nanci over the past month in Africa. We pray for much fruit from these kingdom efforts in the weeks and months to come.

One week from tonight, our campus will be filled with hundreds of children and leaders for the return of AWANA. In the Lord's gracious provision, Ron Procunier, a member from our congregation, will be stepping into the position of AWANA Commander for the upcoming year - a huge role that is vital to this program's success. We are grateful for his willingness to serve our body and the community in this way.

Please join us in welcoming Ron to the DHBC AWANA family!

Why can two Christians have similar spiritual gifts but see very different results from their ministry?

In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul reminds us that while God gives believers gifts for serving the church, He also determines the effectiveness and impact of those gifts. The apostles themselves demonstrate this truth: they shared many of the same gifts and responsibilities, yet God worked through each of them in different ways and to different degrees.

Our responsibility is to faithfully use what God has given us. The results belong to Him.
