We are officially one week away from our 9️⃣0️⃣th Anniversary weekend!! It's going to be a great weekend of celebration as we take a look back on 90 years of memories at Glasgow UMC!! As we prepare for next weekend, check in daily for tons of flashbacks over the years.

🗓FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 - 7:00 P.M. ⛪✝
Worship at Virginia's Chapel
Rev. Sam McMinn and Rev. Darick Biondi will be leading worship as we celebrate where it all began ninety years ago. Light refreshments will follow at the Glasgow UMC Annex.

🗓SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 - 4:00 P.M. 🌭🎶
Join us for a picnic on the grounds of Glasgow UMC. Reminisce on all the memories we've made and take a look at displays from our various groups throughout the years. At 6:00, we'll make our way inside the church for special music by the choir and guests. We'll also all join together in some favorite old hymns!

🗓SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 - 11:15 A.M. 🎶⛪
90th Anniversary Morning Worship
Join us as we close out our 90th Anniversary weekend with our Sunday Morning Worship Service. Rev. John Massey will be leading the service and WV United Methodist Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett will be bringing the morning message. The service will be packed full of memories, music, and spirit!! Dinner will follow in the Annex.

Virginia’s Chapel in the news!! ⛪️🎶📰

Built 173 years ago as a Kanawha County salt baron’s gift to his 18-year-old daughter, Virginia’s Chapel has survived the test of time but is now in need of some TLC in order to remain an iconic presence along U.S. 60 in Cedar Grove.

The Virginia’s Chapel Foundation, the organization that owns and manages the historic church, is in the midst of a campaign to raise the estimated $42,000 needed to:

- Repair and stabilize its steeple, now on the verge of collapse due to water damage and wood rot

- Paint and re-plaster damaged interior and exterior surfaces

- Replace gutters and downspouts

- Replace an HVAC unit

Get them before they’re gone!! We have about 500 peanut butter footballs remaining at $1 each. Once these are gone, you’ll have to wait until Easter when the eggs make a return. Let us know if you would like any!

As we look back on memories in preparation for our 90th Anniversary, today we share the pastors who have led our church and been part of our community of faith over the years. And as of today, after searching for several missing photos of pastors for years, we have been able to locate a photo of each one! These will be on display at our celebration the weekend of September 11-13 and will also hang in the church office. As you take a look, please share memories you have of these pastors through the years.

We have many events coming up, so we thought we would get back to posting our weekly church announcements.

🏈PEANUT BUTTER FOOTBALLS:
The Women in Faith have a limited number of peanut butter footballs available for $1 each. The final batch of footballs will be made Monday and Tuesday this week. If you are able to roll and cut, we will be starting at 8:00 A.M. tomorrow morning.

🚧WATCH YOUR STEP:
This week, there will be repair work taking place on the steps of the church. Please avoid this area while the work is taking place.

🎶CHOIR PRACTICE RESUMES:
Wednesday - 5:30 P.M.
Choir Practice in the Annex (due to repairs taking place)

🍎APPLE BUTTER:
Friday - 6:00 A.M.
Apple Butter Making Day – Feel free to join us early in the morning or stop by during the day to stir. Apple Butter will be $6 a pint.
