Come to us, Holy Spirit!
Prayer of Praise and Adoration: Throughout time, O God, you have sent your Spirit to men and women so that your Word can be seen and heard in every age and in every time. We open our hearts and our minds to you, Holy Spirit. Make our words bold and our actions true, so that we can bear your light into the world. We pray to you, Creator God, Prince of Peace, Breath of Heaven. Amen.
*Hymn: “On Pentecost They Gathered” PH 128
*Call to Confession
*Prayer of Confession
Gracious God, we settle for the lukewarm instead of drawing close to your flame. We are willing to accept “good enough” instead of pushing ourselves to do more. You sent the Holy Spirit to empower us, but we close our hearts to your call. Forgive us, Lord, for our weakness, for our lack of conviction, and for our failure to make your work our priority. We pray to receive your grace, Lord Jesus. Amen.
(Time for silent prayer) Let all God’s people say: Amen

Leader: The Lord be with you.
All: And with your Spirit.
Leader: Lift up your hearts.
All: We lift them to the Lord.
Leader: IIt is right and a good and joyful thing always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Almighty God, creator of heaven and earth. …..
For these mighty acts of your Holy Spirit, we praise your name and join in the eternal hymn of all the angels and saints who sing
All: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosannah in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest!
Leader: Let us say what we believe, using the words of the Apostles Creed.
All: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ his only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified dead and buried. He descended in Hell, on the third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.
Leader: Holy are you, indeed, and blessed is Jesus Christ your Son……
Therefore, in remembrance of the mighty acts and the blessed promises of Jesus, we offer ourselves to you in union with his suffering for us, proclaiming the mystery of faith:
All: Christ has died, Christ has risen. Christ will come again.
Leader: Send your Holy Spirit upon us, gathered here out of love for you, and on this bread and wine. Let the bread we break be true fellowship in the body of Christ. Let the cup we share be a true participation in the new covenant in his blood. By your Spirit manifest in us the power of your redeeming love that the world may see Christ in us as we serve in his name.

Open my eyes that I may see

Silently now I wait for Thee
Ready my God, Thy will to see
Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine!
