⚽️🇸🇮 FROM PROFESSIONAL SOCCER STAR TO MISSIONARY AND CHURCH PLANTER! 🙏🌍

Watch the powerful testimony of Pastor Marcos Tavares! Once celebrated as one of the greatest strikers in Slovenian professional soccer, today he is using his life, faith, and influence to advance the Gospel in Slovenia. 🇸🇮

His journey reminds us that God can use our talents, experiences, and platforms for something much greater than ourselves.

Today, Pastor Marcos is serving as a missionary and church planter, making a difference in the lives of people throughout this European nation.

From the soccer field to the mission field, his story is a beautiful testimony of God’s transforming power! 🙌

This is Reverse Mission in action: God raising up leaders to bring the Gospel to places that need to hear it again.

🌍 The Gospel has no borders.
❤️ Every life has a purpose.
✝️ Every nation needs Jesus.

God is working in Slovenia! To God be all the glory! 🙏🔥

My deepest gratitude to Rede Inspire, Faculdade Batista Pioneira, and the Baptist Convention of New England (BCNE) for walking with us on this missionary journey.

OTD in 1882, Southern Baptist missionaries Zachary Clay Taylor and William Buck Bagby established the first Baptist church in Brazil organized for Brazilian converts, in Salvador, Bahia.

The church was organized with five charter members: Taylor and his wife, Bagby and his wife, and Antônio Teixeira de Albuquerque, a former Catholic priest who had embraced believers’ baptism after studying the New Testament.

The missionaries had arrived in Brazil with the support of the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board, now known as . Their work helped establish the foundation for what would become one of the largest Baptist movements in the world.

From those five charter members in Salvador, Baptist churches would eventually spread throughout Brazil, reaching millions with the gospel. Pictured is Mr and Mrs Bagby
