“Light dawn on a weary world
When eyes begin to see all people’s dignity.
Light dawn on a weary world:
The promised day to justice comes.
The trees shall clap their hands;
The dry lands, gush with spring;
The hills and mountains shall break forth with singing!
We shall go out with joy,
And be led forth in peace,
As all the world in wonder echoes shalom.”

Reminder that today is part 2 of 4 (maybe 5?) of our discussion on the Reconsideration of ELCA Statement of ‘Human Sexuality: Gift and Trust”. To clarify the previous post (a certain guy hadn’t done all the ‘required’ reading. . .):
The discussions are focusing on the church wide call for “Reconsideration #2: A fresh consideration of the “church’s current concept of the four positions of bound conscience” found on pages 19-21”.

Here’s that guy doing his homework by watching the podcast!

Temporary, shortened worship next week and some future weeks! This upcoming Sunday, we will gather for the shortened Service of the Word, but WITH Communion (those don’t usually go together, we know. . .). This will be the 2nd and 3rd Sundays for July and August, and maybe one in September.

This is because we will be responding to the Church wide request for discussion on the following:

“Dear Siblings in Christ,
The task force leading the ELCA in reconsideration of a subsection of the social statement Human Sexuality: Gift and Trust is excited to share an opportunity for you and your congregation to participate in this important work this summer.
The task force has released a new study to foster conversation across this church and to generate feedback that will guide its work.”

Not sure what the algorithm is doing. . . and why it’s not showing recent posts most recently. . .
