The Genesee CommUnity Garden is a volunteer-run garden located behind the St. John's Lutheran Church, 648 W. Our mission is to feed people good food! Instead of dividing the space into individual plots, the whole is run like a small farm; this allows us to be the most efficient with work and materials and maximizes the harvest available to everyone. By encouraging beginners to partner with more ex
perienced growers and sharing the load, everyone benefits! Volunteers plan, till, plant, w**d, water, harvest, and clean up the garden. The garden is available to Genesee-ites, so anyone may feel free to work in the garden and EVERYONE may harvest ANYTHING from the garden. Genesee has some of the richest soil in the world, so we want to share this prime garden spot with all of you! Please stop by to see the progress, pull a few w**ds, or pluck a ripe tomato.
