Tonight, our midweek verse-by-verse study through the Old Testament book of Ruth comes to an end as we consider the final five verses of chapter 4. This thirteenth study focuses on the genealogy titled “Beyond Ruth.”

Ruth’s decision to follow God did not end with simply returning to Bethlehem with Naomi. To the contrary, it had just begun—and the influence of her life carried on long after she was gone. May we, too, seek to leave a lasting influence on the generations to come because of what we have done since being redeemed by Christ.

The early believers in Acts didn’t have technology, platforms, or an easy road—but they had an unwavering passion for Jesus Christ. In the face of ridicule, threats, persecution, and hardship, they “ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ” (Acts 5:42). Their faith wasn’t confined to a church building or a Sunday service. They lived it daily, in the temple and in every house—and their influence was so powerful that they were accused of turning the world upside down!

What was their secret? A unified message, a faith taken everywhere, and a steadfast refusal to quit. This Sunday, we’ll discover what made these first-century believers world changers—and what their example means for us today. May the fire we experience on Sunday follow us into Monday, Tuesday, and every day as we continue to live, teach, and proclaim Jesus Christ

Join us for our midweek Bible study tomorrow evening at Grace Baptist Church as we look at Ruth 4:13-17. What began with loss, uncertainty, and brokenness became a story of redemption, restoration, and renewed purpose. Through Boaz and Ruth’s marriage, Naomi’s restoration, and the birth of Obed, we see that God can bring new beginnings out of seasons that once seemed finished.

But the story doesn’t end with one family—it becomes a legacy. Obed became the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of David, demonstrating that faithful choices today can influence generations we may never see. This encouraging message reminds us that God has not abandoned us in seasons of emptiness, that faithful love matters, and that He can take our relationships, struggles, and obedience and weave them into something far greater than we imagined.
