Good ☕️☔️💧morning!! My prayer is that you have a blessed day and that you are encouraged in Jesus in many ways today! Hope God fills you with His glorious peace today😊❤️
Psalm 11:1–7 is a song of firm faith over panic, written by King David as a response to well-meaning friends or advisors who urged him to run away from danger.
Verses 1–3 (The Advice to Flee vs. David's Refusal): David's associates panic because wicked people are preparing to attack the upright in the shadows ("bending bows" and aiming arrows). They ask, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" David answers that his refuge is in the Lord, rejecting the advice to hide like a frightened bird.
Verses 4–5 (God on His Throne and God's Testing): David looks past earthly chaos to heaven. He reminds himself that the Lord sits on His holy throne, watches all humanity, and examines ("tests") both the righteous and the wicked.
Verse 6 (Judgment of the Wicked): God does not ignore evil. David states that the Lord will rain down fiery judgment, sulfur, and scorching wind upon the wicked.
Verse 7 (The Character of God and the Destiny of the Upright): "For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteous deeds; the upright will behold His face." Because God is just and loves what is good, those who live with moral integrity have the ultimate assurance of His favor and personal presence.
Stand Firm in a Crisis: When societal structures or personal safety seem to collapse, the immediate human impulse is to escape or give up. David teaches that faith anchors a person when fear tries to drive them away.
God is Still in Control: The earthly crisis does not mean heaven is vacant. God remains seated on His throne, completely aware of every hidden threat.
Justice Prevails: Evil will not have the final word; righteousness is both loved by God and rewarded with His intimate fellowship.
