Franciscan Friars of the Atonement

Franciscan Friars of the Atonement We are called to heal wounds, to unite what has fallen apart and to help the lost find their way. Since being founded in 1898 at Graymoor in Garrison, NY by Fr.

Paul Wattson, SA, the Friars have worked for reconciliation and healing through “at-one-ment” — the unity of men and women with God and with one another – so that the prayer of Jesus “that they all may be one” might be fulfilled. Through their mission and ministries the Friars serve people of every race, religion, and walk of life.

Jesus reminds His disciples, “Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.” Father Bob challenges us to consider how we use the gifts God has entrusted to us. Do we cling to them for our own benefit, or do we recognize that God's blessings are meant to be shared generously in service to others?

For over a century, people from around the world have turned to St. Anthony of Padua in moments of need, seeking his intercession and finding peace and hope through prayer. Here at Graymoor, we carry on this cherished devotion through a perpetual novena, faithfully lifting up the prayers and intentions of individuals and families each day.

Known as the “Wonder-Worker," St. Anthony reminds us that no prayer is ever too small and no burden is ever too heavy for God’s love and mercy.

On his Feast Day, we invite you to join us in prayer and to place your intentions at St. Anthony’s Corner.

TIME & AGAIN ST. ANTHONY WILL ASSIST The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement have always turned to St. Anthony of Padua in times of need. Our founder, Servant of God Father Paul of Graymoor often called upon fellow Franciscan, St. Anthony and lovingly referred to him as our “big brother”. Whether...

Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Anthony of Padua.

For the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, St. Anthony holds a cherished place in our spiritual heritage. Since the earliest days of Graymoor, we have entrusted our needs, hopes and petitions to his powerful intercession, affectionately referring to him as our "big brother" in faith.

Our founder, Servant of God Father Paul Wattson, SA, nurtured a deep devotion to St. Anthony, whose life of holiness, humility and devotion to Christ continues to inspire countless faithful. Across the Holy Mountain, pilgrims may encounter sacred places dedicated to his memory, including St. Anthony Shrine and St. Anthony's Grotto, where many come to pray and seek his intercession.

As we honor St. Anthony today, may we follow his example of faith and trust in God. Together, let us ask for his prayers, that he may intercede for us before the Lord and draw us ever closer to Jesus.

St. Anthony of Padua, pray for us. 🙏

On this Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we celebrate the love that unites us in Christ.

As our founder, Servant of God Father Paul Wattson, SA, once wrote: "We have the common faith, the common vision of God, the common love of the Sacred Heart and the common spirit that only the Holy Spirit can infuse into our souls."

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus fill us with His mercy, strengthen our faith and draw us ever closer to one another in His love.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Following our Sunday liturgy on June 7, Fr. Jim Puglisi, SA, led a Eucharistic procession in honor of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, carrying the Blessed Sacrament through the grounds of Graymoor.

This beautiful tradition is a public witness to our faith in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist and an opportunity to bring our prayers and devotion beyond the walls of the church.

As we celebrated this great feast of the Church, we gave thanks for the gift of the Eucharist, the source and peak of our Christian life, and asked the Lord to continue drawing us closer to Him.
