Charity is love made visible—in a meal served, a home repaired, a lonely person welcomed, a child encouraged, and a community gathered.

Today, on the Memorial of St. Teresa of Calcutta, we remember a saint who made that love visible through humble, concrete service. The United Nations chose September 5, the anniversary of her death, as the International Day of Charity in recognition of her extraordinary witness.

We give thanks for every young person, adult volunteer, friar, parish, and friend who helps Capuchin Family Ministries turn compassion into action.

Where will love take form through you today?

Today the Church celebrates the Memorial of St. Monica, mother of St. Augustine and an enduring witness to the power of faithful prayer.

For years, Monica prayed and wept for her son’s conversion. After seeing Augustine baptized, she knew that her deepest hope had been fulfilled. Near the end of her life, when asked whether she feared dying far from her homeland, she answered with serene confidence: “There is no place that is far from God.”

For every parent carrying a child in prayer—and for all who are waiting upon God—may St. Monica teach us perseverance, patient hope, and trust that no person or circumstance lies beyond the reach of grace.

St. Monica, pray for us.

Today heaven and earth rejoice in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Mary, who believed that what was spoken to her by the Lord would be fulfilled, is taken up—body and soul—into heavenly glory. In her, we glimpse the hope promised to all who belong to Christ: death does not have the final word.

Her Magnificat remains the song of the lowly lifted up, the hungry filled with good things, and God’s mercy remembered from generation to generation.

May our souls, like Mary’s, proclaim the greatness of the Lord—and may our lives bear witness to the great things God has done.

Mary is taken up to heaven; a chorus of angels exults.

Happy Solemnity of the Assumption! 💙

As we continue our Novena to St. Clare, we ask for your prayers today for our CLASP community as they prepare to take the stage for Jonah & the Prophettes.

May their performances be filled with joy, confidence, friendship, and the knowledge that the gifts they share are gifts from God.

St. Clare novena, DAY 7 — EUCHARISTIC LOVE

Today Saint Clare leads us to the One who gives Himself completely, inviting us to return that gift with our whole hearts.

Intention: For a deeper love of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Saint Clare writes…
“Love Him totally who gave Himself totally for your love.”

Our Father…

Hail Mary…

Glory Be…

St. Clare of Assisi, pray for us.
And please pray for our CLASPers! 🎭🙏

Today the Church celebrates the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

On the mountain, Jesus revealed His divine glory to Peter, James, and John, strengthening them for the journey that would lead to the Cross.

The Father’s voice still speaks to us today:

“This is my beloved Son… listen to Him.” (Matthew 17:5)

May we seek Christ in prayer, trust Him in times of trial, and allow His light to transform our lives.

Lord, help us to listen.
