We are located at 604 E Street in Galt, CA. Our Sunday worship service is at 10:00 A.M. every Sunday with Holy Communion celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.

06.14.2026 3rd Sunday after Pentecost Home Homily and Recording

In the beginning Adam introduced sin into creation. His and Eve’s punishment? That we would have to busy ourselves with working the field for food and struggle to raise our families from childbirth on. We do so, and are further distracted by the busy-ness of our lives that creates distance between us and God.
God draws us near to trust and have faith in a child-like way, unselfish (until two anyway) and raise our arms to Him to be lifted and held close. Jesus opened His arms for us on the cross, too. Our future in faith and belief, is lit by the light of our Lord and Savior.

06.07.2026 2nd Sunday after Pentecost Home Homily and Recording

You may have heard that churches are hospitals for sinners. Jesus said it first, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”
However, we know there are none who are without sin, not one. It is those who believe they are not sinners that may need the most help, but deny the existence of sin in themselves.
Generally speaking, I’d rather be with those who hear God’s whisper and seek repentance than those who deny God and seek company in denial.

05.31.2026 Trinity Sunday Home Homily and Recording

When we talk about the Trinity, can we not talk about 3 leaf clover; or the ‘individual’ parts of the egg that comprise an egg; or water at room temperature, frozen and steam?
Nothing in the world prepares us to understand the 3 persons of God, it is a mystery beyond our capacity to explain. We accept it in faith and belief through the work of the Spirit just as we accept all of Scripture.
Although you will not find ‘Trinity’ in the Bible, we see plenty there that God uses to point us to this essential, foundational doctrine of our Christian confession.

Happy Birthday! Pentecost is celebrated for the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the modern Christian Church. If we thought we got this, the Holy Spirit reminds we do not! It is this day under 2000 years ago that the Apostles received the promised gift of the Holy Spirit that was poured out on them, giving them the spiritual power and enlightenment to carry out Christ's mission and administer the means of grace. Alleluia! Again, we see that God has done all the work.

We think, I GOT THIS! And the devil knows his gods are getting in the path between us and God. What we desire most is our god; self-sufficiency and self-satisfaction removes us from oneness with each other. God has done all the work and in receipt of His faith and belief, we know Jesus has taken our burdens upon Himself, upon that cross.
In the world you will struggle as one. To the One, you are the world. In the One who does ‘got this’, the One who goes before us, together we are one.

God makes the unknown known to His children! Do you suffer from the malady of the terrible triune of me, myself, and I, like I do?
We all do, sometimes more so than at other times. God makes Himself known to us in the work of the Holy Spirit whom He and the Father send – to dwell with you.

05.03.2026 Fifth Sunday of Easter Home Homily and Recording

The Psalmist asks, “From where does my help come?” and the answer is given, “My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”
Just as Jesus responds for the disciples, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” We are likewise called to be still and to trust God.
Where in our lives do we benefit from trusting God, from hearing His whisper to follow His will.

We find ourselves in awe, wonder, and fear at the mighty presence of God who is all powerful and just – and me, a poor miserable sinner who can do nothing to save himself.
Acts 2:44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. The sheep who hear their Shepherd’s whisper are the children of God.
It is in receipt of the Spirit in Word, Baptism, and Absolution that they find comfort and peace, freedom to go in and out and find green pasture.

04.12.2026 Secon Sunday of Easter Home Homily and Recording

Last time we checked, He is still risen! He is risen, indeed! Alleluia! Do you remember reading Of Mice and Men in high school? It centered on the bond of 2 men, and one of their struggles was for independence.
The readings today could be titled Of Man and God and reminds me of the old adage that man plans and God laughs. Our lives are centered on the sure hope in Christ, specifically the Risen, forgiving Christ!
