Tomorrow we’re wrapping up our *Church of the Apocalypse* series by looking at one of the most beautiful images in the entire book of Revelation: a city whose gates never close.

After all the beasts, empires, strange symbols, and unsettling imagery, Revelation ends with something surprisingly hopeful. Open gates. Healing. Welcome. A city where fear and exclusion don’t get the final word.

If Revelation has ever felt confusing, intimidating, or mostly like something people use to scare others, tomorrow is a good Sunday to join us.

Sunday we talked about the false prophet in Revelation and the danger of religious voices teaching people to treat political power as something sacred.

That’s what makes the image of the false prophet so unsettling. The problem isn’t simply that power exists. It’s what happens when faith gets used to convince people that power deserves our loyalty, our trust, and even our devotion.

Revelation keeps asking us to pay attention to where our allegiance is going and whether the voices claiming to speak for God are actually leading us toward the way of Jesus.

**The false prophet teaches people to give sacred allegiance to beastly power.**

Week one of Church of the Apocalypse reminded us that Revelation was written to help people living under empire recognize what power looks like when it starts asking for our loyalty, our fear, and eventually our worship.

The beasts may change. The empire may use different language. But the temptation is still there.

Revelation helps us recognize empire when it shows up again.

We’ll be at there all day, celebrating the people who make our community so beautiful and we’d love to see you.

We spent the last few weeks talking about faith, hope, and love. We talked about how they shape the way we live when life is uncertain, when the world feels heavy, and when we’re trying to figure out what kind of people we want to become in the middle of it all.

This Sunday, we ended with love. Love is the original design woven into creation from the beginning, and love is the direction the whole story is moving.

Scripture begins with a world called good and ends with a city whose gates never close, where healing reaches the nations and God makes all things new. Love is not just something we are asked to practice along the way. Love is where all of this is headed.

Faith. Hope. Love. These three remain. And the greatest of these is love.
