READ 2nd Chronicles 5-7, Psalm 121 and chapter 4 of 1st Timothy.
Many years after Solomon finished the Temple Paul gave Timothy this good advice, "Teach yourself to be devoted to God. Training your body helps you in some ways. But devotion to God helps you in every way. It brings you blessings in this life and in the future life too... We hope in the living God, the Savior of all people. In particular, He is the Savior of all those who believe in him. This is why we work and struggle", vv. 7-10 ERV.
Psalm 121 is a song sung by pilgrims traveling up to the Temple in Jerusalem: "I look up to the hills, but where will my help really come from? My help will come from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth. He will not let you fall... The Lord will protect you from every danger. He will protect your soul. The Lord will protect you as you come and go, both now and forever!" vv. 1-3, 7&8 ERV.
Solomon celebrated the Temple. In doing so he seemed to predict the events from 722 - 586 B.C.
The people of Israel place so much emphasis on the Temple and physical things that they miss the greater point: "If my people who are called by my name become humble and pray, and look for me, and turn away from their evil ways, then I will hear them from heaven. I will forgive their sin and heal their land", 2nd Chronicles 7:14.

PRAY - Lord, forgive me when I allow the everyday things of this live to distract me from worship and communion with You. You are Great and Good! Your ways are better and higher than mine.
There is no longer need for sacrifices of animals. 🎶Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe. Sin had washed a crimson stain he washed it white as snow.🎵

READ 1st King 7 and 2nd Chronicles 4, Psalm 44 and chapter 2 of 1st Timothy.

God, we have heard about you. Our fathers told us what you did in their lifetime. They told us what you did long ago. With your great power you took this land from other people. Psalm 44:1&2 ERV

The books of Kings and Chronicles provide us great details about the past. It is interesting that Solomon took longer to build his palace than the Temple, but credit to him for building the place of worship first.

Psalm 44 is almost a lament:

We did not turn away from you.

We did not stop following you.

But you crushed us in this home of jackals.

You left us in this place as dark as death. Did we forget the name of our God?

Did we pray to foreign gods? If we did, then God knows it, because he knows our deepest secrets.

All day long we died for you, vv. 18-22.

From Paul to Timothy and for us today: First of all, I ask that you PRAY for all people. Ask God to bless them and give them what they need. And give thanks. You should pray for rulers and for all who have authority. Pray for these leaders so that we can live quiet and peaceful lives—lives full of devotion to God and respect for him. This is good and pleases God our Savior.

God wants everyone to be saved and to fully understand the truth. There is only one God, and there is only one way that people can reach God. That way is through Christ Jesus, who as a man gave himself to pay for everyone to be free. This is the message that was given to us at just the right time. And I was chosen as an apostle to tell people that message. (I am telling the truth. I am not lying.) I was chosen to teach those who are not Jews to believe and understand the truth.

I want the men everywhere to pray. Men who lift their hands in prayer must be devoted to God and pleasing to him. AMEN.

Continue to trust in God and do what you know is right. Some people have not done this, and their faith is now in ruins. 1st Timothy 1:28 ERV

READ 1st Kings 6 and 2nd Chronicles 3, also read the first chapter of Paul's first letter to Timothy.
Solomon was King David's son. He was given the task to built a temple to the Lord God on Mt. Moriah.
Timothy was Paul's spiritual son. His task was to, "Stay in Ephesus to command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer". These people devoted themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work—which is by faith. The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm. vv. 3-7
1st Kings 6:11-13, "The word of the Lord came to Solomon: 'As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, observe my laws and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father. And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel.”
Paul told Timothy in verse 8&9, "We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious".
No one can keep the law. Which task is easier, building a temple or teaching the truth in faith? Answer: The one we do for Jesus with the help of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

PRAY - Lord Jesus thank You for making our burden light. You replaced the monument in Jerusalem with life eternal and salvation from sin.
Holy Spirit be with the church as we complete the work of Jesus.
Amen.

“Whoever will not work should not be allowed to eat.”
We hear that some people in your group refuse to work. They are doing nothing except being busy in the lives of others. Our instruction to them is to stop bothering others, to start working and earn their own food. It is by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ that we are urging them to do this. Brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good. 2nd Thessalonians 10-13 ERV

READ 1st Kings 5, 2nd Chronicles 2 and the final chapter (3) of Paul's letter to Thessalonica.
The Old Testament books of Kings and Chronicles were written by different men; Jeremiah (or a group of prophets) and Ezra, respectively.
Human history is the record of great men and how countries related with each other. We learn about Saul, David, Solomon and Lebanon's King Hiram. God used the division of the Kingdom of Israel into North and South to teach us about the world, societies, militaries and governments.
Paul's background in Hebrew History was foundational for him to understand the Kingdom of Heaven. He knew that God related to the Children of Israel through the Law, but in this era (the Church Era) we relate to each other and God through Jesus Christ. "The Lord gives us confidence that you are doing what we told you and that you will continue to do it. We pray that the Lord will cause you to feel God’s love and remember Christ’s patient endurance", vv. 4&5 ERV.
God's Word is a Book of Life and how to live.

PRAY (2nd Chronicles 7:14) - LORD I pray for the Church to be United; that Your people, who are called by Your name, will humble themselves, pray and seek Your Face, and turn from our wicked ways. Your promise to us is that You will hear from heaven, and forgive our sin and heal the land.
Jesus we need You. I love You and through the power of Your Holy Spirit can love others. Come Lord Jesus! Come quickly Immanuel!
