FOUNDATIONS: WEEK 1 🧱

This Sunday we kicked off Foundations by asking one of the most important questions we can answer: Who is Jesus? In Matthew 16, Jesus asks his disciples what everyone else is saying about him before making it personal and asking, “Who do you say I am?” Peter responds by declaring that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God.

Jackson walked us through what the world says about Jesus and then compared that with what Jesus actually says about himself. Jesus doesn’t simply claim to know the way to God; he says that he is the way, the truth, and the life. If Jesus really is who he says he is, then what we believe about him should shape the way we live, what we believe to be true, and ultimately what we build our lives upon.

As we continue the conversation this week, we’re sitting with the same question Jesus asked his disciples: Who do you say he is?

Before we can understand what it looks like to follow Jesus, we have to understand what our faith is actually built on. So for the next three weeks, we’re going back to the foundations and asking three questions that shape everything about what we believe and how we live: Who is Jesus? How are we saved? What is the Great Commission?

These may feel like simple questions, but the answers have implications for the rest of our lives. Our hope is that students wouldn’t just know the right answers, but would understand what they believe, why they believe it, and how that changes the way they follow Jesus in the world around them.

Foundations starts tomorrow. We’ll see you at 9 & 11! 🧱 ✨
