The memorial service for Edmund Janzen will be Monday, April 20 at 11:00 AM here at Butler Church. A video of the service will also be available for those who cannot attend in person. (Link in comments.)

Edmund was a beloved member of our Butler family in addition to being a well known professor, mentor, and administrator. We are saddened to be missing Edmund's presence with us, but take joy in knowing that he is in the presence of Jesus.

Celebrate Easter with us!

Holy week finds us with varying emotions; and all of these have a place. At Butler Church we are making space for both reflection ... and celebration!

Good Friday an art installation of the Stations of the Cross will be available in the morning in the courtyard, to prayerfully walk through the Easter story. The display will be in the courtyard from 7am-noon (and then on Huntington Blvd later in the afternoon).

Easter Sunday we're having a celebration service at 10AM with music, activities for kids, communion, and a bilingual message in English & Spanish. Come celebrate Easter with us at Butler Church where we believe God’s promise is for everyone: “Look, I'm making all things new!”

Butler Church is located on the corner of Butler & Winery in southeast Fresno. Our monthly food distribution will also be taking place Friday morning, April 3.

From our Ash Wednesday service. As we enter the season of Lent, and lean into spiritual practices, we journey with a desire to know God more fully, and commit to live humbly and justly.

The season of Lent signifies Jesus setting his face toward Jerusalem and beginning his journey to the cross, marked by a time in the wilderness and intense dependance on God. Traditionally, during Lent many people take up a spiritual practice like fasting. It can also be a time we intentionally say Yes to something as we let go of other habits.

In our Sunday English services, Pastor Ron and Pastor Connie will be preaching through the lectionary, with a focus on this theme of walking with Jesus through wilderness seasons. Worship is at 9AM and 10:45; join us in person or online!

We are excited to partner with to launch something we’ve been dreaming of - a learning cohort.

More to come about the vision and why we think this style of learning is so impactful. We really hope churches, people of faith with no church home, and people questioning faith and curious about what is happening in the Central Valley will come together for rich conversations and the chance to think creatively about how we can make a difference.

What a great service we had this past Sunday! Below is the video link for anyone who missed it. (Sorry we can't send you the potluck virtually; it was amazing too!)

Together with special guests we prayed over Interim Pastor Ron and Kathy Herms, worshipped together in multiple languages, and received an encouraging and challenging message about following God's spirit "right out our front door."

Our next all church combined service and lunch will be in November for Missions Sunday!

Worship with us this Sunday in a multicultural service and stay for a potluck lunch! All are welcome; just bring a dish to share! The service will start at 10AM.

Our four Butler congregations will be joining together along with special guests for the installation service of our Interim Lead Pastor, Ron Herms. We'll join together in prayer, song, and time in scripture on living with vision & purpose.

Join in this Sunday as we pray blessings over all the students, teachers, and administrators returning to the classroom and coursework. We'll have a special Butler Cafe time with coffee and snacks in the courtyard at 9:30AM. Then our multilingual worship service will follow at 10AM, indoors & online.
