Today we continued our Blessed? series with a reminder that mercy is what happens when we stop keeping score.

Because God’s mercy toward us never runs out, we can become people who freely give that same mercy away, even when it would be easier to hold on to the hurt.

“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” — Matthew 5:7

May we be carriers of His mercy into a wounded world.

Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.”

There should be something in us that longs for things to be different, for more of God, for what is broken to be made right, and for His Kingdom to come.

We can’t fix everything. But we can stop looking away.

Ask God this week: Where do You want me to stop looking away, and where do You want me to step in?

Meekness isn’t weakness. It’s a different kind of strength.

It’s humility that doesn’t need to think more highly of itself. It’s the strength to rule your spirit instead of reacting in anger. And it’s the faith to trust God with the outcome instead of retaliating or taking matters into your own hands.

Jesus modeled this kind of meekness and He invites us to learn from Him.
