On Wednesday, September 30th Heart of a Child Ministries will be sharing their Celebration of Life presentation with our community. All are welcome!

Heart of a Child Ministries is an Omaha-based, nationally recognized, archdiocese of Omaha approved, education ministry that brings these live ultrasound presentations to both children and adults with professional sonographers, master’s level social workers and pregnant volunteers. People of all ages love to see the miracle of life in the womb, listen to the heartbeat, and hear the joy-filled truth about God’s love for the preborn person and for all of His children through Scripture and spiritual teaching.

We are seeking one to two pregnant volunteers who are willing to share their babies with our community and students through this live ultrasound presentation. Ideal time of pregnancy is 14-32 weeks. Times needed on September 30th are: 9:30am-11am and 12:15-2:45, and 6:00pm-7:30pm. The ultrasound portion of the presentation is just 10-15 minutes long and is fully safe for you and the baby. If you are interested in sharing the gift of life with our students for any or all of these sessions or have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Prayerfully Consider Joining These AWESOME Volunteers!

Faith Formation would LOVE to have you join these wonderful volunteers each Wednesday evening as a Catechists or a Prayer Pal.
Catechists would teach with another adult and being given everything they need to share the love of Jesus with our youth, the future of the Catholic Church! Many times, the Catechists say they not only enjoy it but it strengthens their faith as well.
If you volunteer as a Prayer Pal, NO preparation is needed. You come to Faith Formation and listen to youth say prayers from the Prayer Honor Roll booklet.
Parents who have youth in Faith Formation will not have to pay the tuition for their children for Faith Formation as a thank you for volunteering your time.
Bergan families, this is a great way to help pay for tuition through the Work Grant program at Bergan. For more information about Work Grant, contact the Finance Office.
If you don’t have children in Faith Formation or Bergan, we still welcome you to volunteer your time with our youth. We have several volunteers whose children are grown but love sharing their faith and working with the remarkable youth at our parish.
To be a part of this wonderful mission of our church, contact Lori Kisby at [email protected] or 402-721-6611 ext 208. Thank you so much for prayerfully considering to do our Heavenly Father’s work!

Thank You LIFT and Peer Ministers!

We want to say “thank you” to all of the youth who volunteered their time at the “Festival of Joy” last weekend. Members of LIFT and Peer Ministers joined together to keep all of the festival attendees with cool beverages.
The youth also shared their art skills by providing face painting for all of the kiddos and even some adults. Their creations looked wonderful on all of the faces.
Our Padre Pio Parish Family are so blessed to have active youth in our parishes. Thanks for your willingness to serve others!

Safe Environment Dates

Because of a mandate by the Archdiocese, ANYONE who comes in contact with youth and/or vulnerable adults in the name of the church must be Safe Environment certified. This includes coordinators for Mass, EMHC, ushers, teachers, parents who volunteer at school or Faith Formation, Knights of Columbus, St. Pat's Women, Catholic Daughters as well as other ways you volunteer.
There will be opportunities to take the Safe Enviornment Certification Training right here in Fremont. If Saturdays work better for you, here are dates you may sign up for: Sept. 12, Nov. 14, Feb. 6 and April 10. All of the trainings will be in Delaney Hall beginning at 9:00 a.m. If Wednesday nights work better for you, the dates available are Aug. 26, Oct. 7, Jan. 20, March 10 and May 12. These classes will begin at 5:00 pm in Bergan’s MS/HS library.
To register for a class, you will need to go to archomaha.org, click on Safe Environment at the top, scroll down to click on “live training” and answer the questions. If you have any questions, contact Lori Kisby at [email protected].
