It was brought to my attention that I did not put times down for kids club. Please pickup you child afterwards between 5:15 and 5:30. When we start community meals in October we invite you and your family to stay and have a meal with us and closing up church around 6. If you will be late picking up your child no worries! Just let me know a few min before hand! 🥰

MEET PASTOR JULIE!!!
Pastor Julie Ahrens

My husband and I were born and raised in central Iowa…namely Ellsworth, Iowa. We have been married nearly 40 years…as this is our second marriage. Ron has three sons, Mike, who lives in Parker, Colorado, Dan, who lives in Waukee, Iowa and Nate who lives in Longmont,
Colorado. I have one son, David, living in Norwalk, Iowa and my daughter and her husband, Mike Yauk, live in Lansing, IA now. We are blessed to have 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

I have been blessed to have been able to serve several different positions in various businesses. I was a manager for Peoples Natural Gas in various locations and after that company closed, I was a loan officer for a bank in Decorah and left that position to be an online advisor for Upper Iowa University. After retiring from that position…I started some training courses to be a Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church.

In 2012, I was asked to consider serving as a Local Pastor in a couple of churches here in NE Iowa and began taking classes in Course of Study to prepare for being licensed in the UMC. I completed the COS courses (20 of them) in 2024. It has been such an honor to have been called by our Lord to serve His people. In serving God’s people…I consider myself a partner in the work we all do for our Lord and love working with the people.

I also love getting to know the people and all of the connections we all have.

2026/2027 list of needed items for the kids club year

Gift cards to all stop
Gift cards to pizza palace
Gift cards to the meatery

6 Large jars of apple sauce
1 Ketchup
1 Syrup
1 Bbq
2 Ranch

Cookies, pies, sweet breads,sweet rolls and bars that can go into the freezer
5 lb Rotini noodles
5 lb Elbow noodles
2 loaves Velveeta cheese or generic of
5 loaves Frozen bread dough
1 Large jar of peanut butter
1 Strawberry jam
1 Grape jelly
Boxes of cereal of various flavors and kinds. Will be used in a cereal mix
5 lb Shredded cheese mozzarella
5 lb shredded cheese cheddar
5 lb ground beef
3 lbs butter

Anything else I need or that isn’t fulfilled on the list I will purchase.

If you are unable to donate THATS OK! I am asked if I need anything so I made a list! This will be used for the beginning of kids club and when community meals start. If you have extra fresh produce or fruit and want to share please reach out to me! We will utilize them too!
