Alive Church

Alive Church Alive Church - A vibrant, life-giving church in Fredericksburg, VA Alive Church is a vibrant church, comprised of people of various backgrounds and walks.

Our mission as a church is pretty simple: equipping people to live fully alive in Christ. That often looks like gathering together on Sundays to worship and hear solid biblical teaching, gathering during the week in life groups to share life with some other people in our church, and being intentional about serving our city, nation, and world in practical ways that bring life! Lust and objectification is a (perhaps subtle) way of ruling over another person. But that’s not how God originally designed things to work.

We’re all smiles because tomorrow is another Serve Day!! We’re teaming up with and serving and more!

A big preemptive THANKS to everyone who’s serving to help make this day a blessing to our community! We can (and should) each have the heart of Jesus to serve others, and yet there’s something special about these days when we pull together to make an impact. We’re better together!

Tomorrow’s Sunday, and a great day to have a good day.

We’ve got a seat and a smile for you at Alive Church. Be there for part 3 of the Sermon on the Mount series where Jesus jumps into some really weighty everyday issues of life.

As we study Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (and really as a rule of thumb for processing all of God’s Word) it’s good to regularly reflect on the 4 sections that end the Sermon (Matthew 7:13-27)

Blessed are those who believe Jesus really meant what He said every time He said “Blessed are those…”

Want to have a life that’s built to last? That will endure the storm’s life inevitably throws your way?

At the end of Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount” He uses a parable about 2 houses that both represent people who’ve heard the teachings of Jesus. But the one built on the sand represents the person that hears but doesn’t obey and gets swept away. And the house built on the rock is the one that represents the person who hears and obeys, and LASTS!

We’re better together.

It’s not just that community makes life better, which it does. But it also is what God has called the Church to be at its core.

We realize it takes work, compassion, forgiveness, time, energy, grace, and probably a lot more. But it’s worth it. It’s so worth it!

In Matthew 7:14 Jesus warns us: “For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” Jesus acknowledges the spiritual claustrophobia that may likely be felt at times with living His way.

But it’s also the only way to experience life that is truly life. So may we grow in our trust of Jesus and courage to go His way no matter what!
