June is nearly here and the summer solstice is on the horizon. Frederick CUUPS is offering many ways to stay connected this summer. This month includes our annual full-congregation High Holiday Service. This year, we're offering the Summer Solstice service on June 21st at 10:30 AM. June also holds the Earth Service, FCUUPS Kids & Teens, our popular Dungeons & Dragons program, the Moon Circle, a Full Moon Labyrinth Walk and Drum Circle, Dragons' Scales rehearsals and more! Please join us tomorrow, Saturday May 2nd for our Fires of Spring Ritual at the UUCF.
Pls see the details below. 🌸🌳🌿🪴🌺🌷

We gather to kindle the Fires of Spring and dance the maypole together. We invite everyone to channel their whimsy, bring their laughter, strap on some wings or a flower crown and join the Fairy Parade! Through ritual, revelry, dance, and song, we raise a spell of hope, laughter, and renewal.

Please join us for ritual at 7:00 PM, or come early at 5:30 for a potluck social hour. If the weather is nice, we’ll picnic out on the grounds, so you may want a blanket or camp chairs. Please bring your favorite savory or sweet dish to share. Please include a card with the ingredients listed so those with food allergies/sensitivities can make safe choices for themselves.

Children of all ages are welcome! They will join the community for the duration of this ritual. Parents must supervise children and teens as no childcare will be provided.

As part of our Fairy theme, a Trinket Trading station and Wand-Making table will be available during the potluck portion of our gathering.

Herbalism for Spring & Summer
Sunday April 19th 1pm at the UUCF.

Spring and summer invite us outward—into movement, growth, creativity, and connection. In this seasonal herbalism class, we explore plant allies that support the body and nervous system through times of rising energy, heat, and expansion. We will cover herbs that cool inflammation, soothe seasonal allergies, support digestion, regulate stress, and protect the skin as we spend more time outdoors.


This class blends practical herbal knowledge with energetic, astrological, and folk perspectives—honoring both the medicinal actions of plants and their relationships to the sun, moon, and elements. Participants will learn to recognize and harvest common seasonal plants, understand their physical and energetic properties, and explore how to prepare them as teas, oils, salves, and everyday remedies. Throughout the course, we’ll also discuss boundaries, pacing, and nervous system regulation—essential skills for navigating.


This course honors the long, hot days of the year not as something to endure, but as a necessary and sacred phase of the cycle— one that invites you to build confidence in working with herbs as living allies, supporting resilience, vitality, and embodied presence through the season of growth.

Our Masquerade Ball is this Saturday and we can't wait to see you!

A few notes to help you get the most out of your experience:

~ There are 19 tickets remaining at the time of this message - feel free to send the event listing to friends who might enjoy the Masque. DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM RANDOS IN THE COMMENTS. Those are predatory spam accounts. We catch as many as we can, but can't watch this page 24/7. Only purchase tickets through the Eventbrite link.

~ This event is 21+ only. Anyone under age will be turned away

~ The doors are open from 7 PM til 10 PM. We do not admit new arrivals after 10 PM

~ This event is BYOB. Please remember that non-alcoholic beverages are also good to have.

~ There is a potluck bar with one full table of non-alcoholic drinks. Please only frequent the bar if you contribute to it.

~ Please ONLY bring non-glass drinking ware: metal or plastic, or single-serving drinks contained in metal or plastic. Glass is fine for large bottles on the potluck bar, but cups should be break-resistant.

~ AVOID GLITTER. It is terrible for the environment and difficult to clean up. Choose rhinestones or sequins instead for your sparkle needs.

~ Please carpool or take Lyft or Uber (particularly if you plan to imbibe). Parking at the UUCF can get a little tight.

~ Our behavior policy: All patrons should be considerate and respectful of others and refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior. Please be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow celebrants. Always ask before initiating touch. Alert event organizers if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress. Unacceptable behaviors include anything intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogative, or demeaning including offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation or race. If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the event organizers can take actions deemed necessary up to and including the expulsion from the event without refund.
