Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope you are enjoying the long weekend! This past week, as I was in my garage & organizing the tools my wife & I have, I realized that our tools are over 65 years old. Without these tools it would be extremely hard to do our jobs. Then I thought about our hands. They are tools also. God has given us many gifts & when we combine the gifts we have, with the tools we use, we can do wonderful things for people. We can help build houses, cook meals for the homeless & make clothes for people who are without, to name a few. So many things we can do, but sometimes, we take our gifts for granted & sit back & watch as the opportunities to help people pass us by. I pray that you will look at the tools you use & see you do have special gifts & that there are many opportunities where we can help people in need! Be blessed & a blessing to each other! Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! As I was surfing around Facebook, I saw many posts from families going on vacation. Most of these posts mentioned that this will probably be their last vacation before school starts. Soon our children will be going back to school, some leaving home to attend college. For many, the stress of school beginning starts to build. Families try to figure out how to get all the necessary school supplies, do they need new clothes, etc. For the college kids, it is trying to figure out what type of roommate they will have, will they get along with them & can I fit all my stuff in the car so I can take everything to school. So much we all have to deal with & many of us have no one to help us! I pray that as we approach this new school year, our stress level will decrease, our kids will look forward to the new year & our college kids will enjoy themselves & get ready for life after school! Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I recently read a quote on “Friendship” from Charles R. Swindoll. He said, “I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let's face it, friends make life a lot more fun.” Isn't that the truth? Where would we all be without our friends? Especially the ones we feel close to. Take a look around, maybe there is a friend you haven't spoken to in a while or maybe he/she moved away & you lost touch with them. It is never too late to call them. I prayer that we will take time out of our busy lives to make that call to our existing friends & also find time to make new friends! Be blessed & a blessing to each other! Live, Laugh & Love! Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a good weekend! Recently I have been watching the Little League games. It has been so much fun seeing these young kids playing. I saw when some of the teams went up against the great teams, that they were struggling to hit the best pitchers, but even when down, these players never gave up. They kept fighting until the final out. It reminded me of a quote I keep in my office; it is from Michael Jordan; “If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around & give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” Michael Jordan, while in 10th grade was told by his coach, he wasn’t good enough to play on the Varsity. Instead of sulking & quitting basketball, Michael worked hard & became a great player! I pray that we don’t let obstacles get in our way of achieving! Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! I was reading from Ephesians; in the reading, Paul instructs us in how to encourage others through words & actions. I learned five ways to encourage others. 1) by Speaking the Truth in Love; We must ask ourselves what is the most loving way to express the truth? 2) Don’t allow your anger to damage a relationship. 3) By Working Hard, if we work hard in our jobs, most of the time we will get good pay, we can then turn around & help others in need. 4) by Speaking Positive Words, never put down anyone, use positive words to build that person up & feel needed & 5) Walking in Love, our whole attitude & demeanor should be characterized by love, putting others before ourselves, wanting & working for the best for & in others, being patient & kind, & hoping & believing in others. We can encourage others best when we love them most. Be blessed & a blessing to each other. Live, Laugh & Love. Be the person who makes others smile! God Bless you!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. While I was reading the bible, I came across the story when Jesus ate with the Tax Collectors & Sinners. People thought Jesus was crazy to eat with them. People thought just because Jesus was who he was, he shouldn’t be seen with them. None of us are perfect, we all have our faults, but through all of this, God loves us. I heard this song from David Crowder, titled; “Come As You Are”. I felt it was a great song to go along with this reading. Some of the words are; “Come broken hearted let rescue begin, Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal. So lay down your burdens, lay down your shame, all who are broken, lift up your face, so lay down your hurt, lay down your heart, Come as you are! There is hope for the hopeless & all those who stray, come sit at the table & taste the Grace!” I pray that no matter what situations you are in, you will know & feel the love of God! Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! My two churches have a “Prayer Wall.” Anyone can write down a prayer request & place it on our wall. This way, our concerns can be seen by everyone & we can all pray together for those issues. I want you to know that I pray for you every day during my daily prayer time. My two congregations, which are made up of about 140 people, are also praying for you! We pray for your health, your finances, your family & whatever else we can think of. Please know that you are never alone & you are always in someone’s thoughts & prayers. If anyone would like a specific concern placed on our “Wall”, just PM me & I will list it for you. I pray that you will take time & create your own “Prayer Wall” in your house, your car or wherever you feel you will see it & lift each other in prayer! Be blessed & a blessing to each other! Hi everyone, my two churches, the Franklinville UMC & Plainville UMC in Franklinville, will be holding a joint service on Sunday, July 26th at 11:30AM at the Franklinville UMC at 1525 Coles Mill Road in Franklinville. Our Bishop, Bishop Cynthia Moore-KoiKoi will be visiting & giving the sermon. After the service we will have a luncheon to celebrate our Bishop’s visit. I would like to invite you to this service. I hope you will join us & invite your family & friends. It will be so good to see you!!
