If you missed us this past Sunday we continued our journey “To The Mountain" with the first word – “No Other Gods.”

During Week 4's message we learned:
- In a world full of options and rival “gods,” the very first word “You shall have no other gods before Me” is not a threat, but an invitation.
- The God who has already brought His people out of the house of slavery calls us into undivided love and freedom from the idols that can never truly satisfy.

In this message we look at:
- Exodus 20:1-3
- The world of many gods that Israel lived in
- What the first command actually means (“before Me,” exclusive loyalty, heart‑level allegiance)
- How our modern idols show up without statues—success, money, relationships, comfort, control
- How Jesus fulfills the first command and gives us a new heart that loves God above all

You can reflect on:
- What “other gods” are most tempting for you—success, comfort, control, approval, or something else?
- Where have good gifts in your life quietly become ultimate idols?
-What is one concrete way you can re‑center your love and trust on the living God this week?

Last Sunday we reached Week 3 of our series **“To The Mountain: The Ten Words of Freedom”** with a message called **“The Ten Words.”**

We saw that the Ten Commandments are really Ten “Words” — covenant vows spoken by the God who has already brought His people out of the house of slavery. They’re not just a moral checklist, but the core promises that show what love for God and love for neighbor look like in real life.

This Sunday we move into **Week 4 – “No Other Gods.”**
We’ll look at the very first word: **“You shall have no other gods before Me.”** Far from being petty or insecure, this is the God who rescues calling His people into undivided love and freedom from false masters — including the “gods” of success, comfort, control, and approval that tug at us today.

What a blessing this weekend was!

Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, shopped, helped, shared, and prayed for our Community Yard Sale for a Cause.

Because of your generosity, we were able to raise over $1,600 for IDES.

It was beautiful to see our church family and community come together in such a practical way to support people facing crisis.

Thank you for helping us turn a simple yard sale into a meaningful act of care and service.

If you missed it, last Sunday we continued our series “To The Mountain: The Ten Words of Freedom” with Week 2: Meeting God.

Before God speaks the Ten Words, He brings His people to the foot of Mount Sinai—thunder, lightning, fire, and thick cloud. It’s a holy meeting between a rescued people and the God who carried them “on eagles’ wings” and brought them to Himself.

At Sinai the people tremble and stand far off, while Moses draws near. In Christ we still meet the same holy God, but through a greater Mediator who invites us to come with confidence.

Out of Egypt: The God Who Sets Slaves Free

Before God ever gives a single command, He steps into the “house of slavery” and rescues His people. The Ten Commandments start with a story of rescue, not a list of rules. God doesn’t say, “If you obey, I might save you.” He says, “I have brought you out; now here’s how to live free.”

We’re thankful to share the second sermon from our new minister, Charles Bradburn, at Benzie Area Church of Christ.

This message continues his series, “In the Beginning,” where he is laying out a biblical vision for our church’s future.

This week’s sermon is titled “The Gift of the Seventh Day: Genesis 2:1–3.”

In it, Charles walks through God’s rhythm of work and rest, how the seventh day becomes a blessed and holy gift, how Jesus offers true rest to weary people, and how our Rest & Connect model grows out of that Sabbath vision for our life together.
