Sunday evening Pastor Mary and her husband took the generous financial offering from Fowler and Kentland Trinity UMC's to Pastor Chris Matthews of Gary Christ and Fifth Avenue UMC's -- to support efforts to care for the people now and assist with clean up. We collaborated with Elkhart Trinity UMC in serving the dinner that Elkhart Trinity provided, to the community. We talked, supported, listened, encouraged. We viewed the damage in the area. We were blessed with delightful conversation and fellowship. As Pastor Mary spoke with one of the Fifth Avenue members who was without power for 8 days, she said, "I know someone from Fowler!" The person LaNetta mentioned is a mutual friend! UMC connection. We also witnessed many utility trucks and crews working to restore power. Pastor Mary and Dave were blessed by this visit.

Today! On the Sabbath our worship is focused on Sabbath ... 'The Resurrection of Sabbath and More,' Exodus 20:8-11 and Matthew 12:1-12. What is Sabbath? What does Sabbath mean to you? How do you practice Sabbath? How has the practice of Sabbath changed over the years?
There is a lesson for Children during worship and childcare for Littles is provided. Fellowship after worship -- all are invited!

This evening's menu for the Community Dinner is BBQ chicken, Carrot Salad and Dessert. Our crew is cooking today and will serve drive through 5:30 to 6:30pm, or until all the food is served. We hope that you have a great day out there!
