Matthew 7:24-29
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.

Questions: 1. What is the worst actual rain storm you’ve been through? 2. Jesus talk about storms and the foundation you build on - what are some verses from his sermon in the mount that mean the most to you as solid foundation? 3. Why do you think the people were so amazed by Jesus’ teaching?

Proverbs 19:8 The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.

Read Proverbs 19:8 together - it is about the person who “cherishes understanding.” What’s difficult about having this kind of heart? What is the benefit?

NOTE: Youth Group Is Cancelled For Sunday Night, June 14th. AND You can pick up week 2 "Take Home" VBS bags this week at JCC at the office, or next Sunday along with week 3

Here are your Friday reminders for this weekend here at Journey Christian Church, and beyond.

VBS @ JCC. “True North” VBS starts this Sunday. We have a table setup in the Kids check – in area with our take home VBS bags. Each Sunday in June grab a new bag for each kid in your family to take home to have VBS together. HERE IS THE AWESOME PART! Take home another bag as well to share with someone else. Here are a few ideas… Friends, Family, Kids You Babysit Over The Summer, Sports Teams Your Child Plays On… Whoever you want to share the VBS with. We are excited to make it a little different this year and take VBS out of the church and into our community. So each week take a new bag for yourself, and take a bag, or bags, to share. ASLO… Take a few pics to share too. Send us your VBS pics by sending them to [email protected].

Baptism Sunday. Sunday, June 14th is Baptism Sunday. If you are interested in being baptized contact the church at [[email protected]%20][email protected] and let us know if you want to be a part of the day.

Grad Sunday. The 14th is also Grad Sunday here at JCC. Do you have a graduate? We would like to honor our high school and college graduates on Sunday, June 14th. Send us a couple of pics to [email protected].
