At Grace Reformed Baptist Church, our first love is to the head of the church, Christ Jesus. Because we have been saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, our desire is to be nourished by His Word, transformed into His likeness, and useful for the spread of the Gospel. We believe that God's Word is authoritative for every area of life. God's Word contains the blueprint for godly societies, gov

ernment, churches, and families. We believe that God’s Word is sufficient for teaching, edifying, reproof, evangelizing, and growing His church. Our desire is to see our community brought under the dominion of Christ (the King of Kings) through the gospel proclamation. We believe the gospel has the power to transform culture as individuals are transformed through the regenerating power of the Spirit. Our mission is to bring glory to God as we equip the saints for worship, service, and evangelism. Teaching Duties are currently being performed by Pastor Ben Gardner. We would love to have you and your family join us this Lord's Day as we corporately worship, grow, and pray together. We meet at 10 am each Sunday and 7 pm each Wednesday evening.

God's Design for Civil Government

The law of God makes it abundantly clear: just governemnt is a divine calling (See Deuteronomy 16:18-17:13). The duty of the civil realm is to follow that which is altogether just. This begs the question - who determines what is just? The answer: God does. And He has codified what is just within the Holy Scriptures. In order to have just government, we must elect officials who know God's Word and live a life that is characterized by applying that Word.

Until Christians raise up and elect godly leaders, our government will not be a blessing, but a burden.

The principles of Biblical justice begin in the home. This means:

- The children know the rules before they are enforced.
- Don't make the rules up after you discipline.
- Parents should confirm the actual offense before disciplining.
- Parents should exercise patience to ensure our homes are governed by the righteous law of God. Outbursts of wrath never produce the righteousness of God.

Teach your children the principles of justice by implementing them within the home.

In Deuteronomy 17:8-13, here we see Moses' instruction about how to handle difficult cases. But within these instructions, we see God's design for a just court system.

Did You Prepare for Worship?

As you get ready to worship God today, did you prepare? Hebrews teaches us that when we gather, we should provoke one another to love and good works. This assumes that you have prepared and that you are engaged with the body of believers that God has placed you with. As you worship, sing praises to God, pray, hear the Word read, don't forget an important element - engage with the body of believers that you are with today.

You determine who raises your children.

How did our society come to strangers raising our children five days a week?

Is God's Law Too Harsh?

Many in our day think that what Moses teaches in Deuteronomy 17 is too harsh. But Moses loves HIs God and His country. So, Moses gives this law to remind them that God redeemed them and provide for them. Moses is warning them not to turn away from God.

Danger of Apostasy

The turning away from God is a serious sin. In Israel it was a crime, because it was detrimental to the nation. This is why we should pursue those who are threatening to apostatize. We should be just as passionate to warn those who are threatening to turn away from God as we are the lost.

How We Worship Matters

Deuteronomy 17:1 - you shall not sacrifice to the LORD your God an ox or sheep in which is a blemish, any defect whatever, for that is an abomination to the LORD your God.

In our study of Deuteronomy, we see that how we worship God matters. This means that God determines the kind of worship that is acceptable, not us. Furthermore, worship is not what we get, but what we bring. This means God is the object of worship, not us.
