ISBA's 15th Annual 9/11 Multi-Faith Food Drive Has Begun
Each year, the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Arizona (ISBA) and our community partners come together to transform the commemoration of 9/11 from a day remembered only for tragedy into a day of service, compassion, and unity.
The spirit that inspired first responders and ordinary people to help complete strangers on September 11, 2001, is still alive today. Through ISBA's 15th Annual 9/11 Multi-Faith Food Drive, people of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds unite around a common purpose: helping our neighbors in need.
We're announcing the drive early to give mosques, churches, temples, schools, businesses, community groups, and individuals plenty of time to organize their collections.
This year, we are collecting non-perishable food, paper products, and hygiene items to benefit four local food banks and pantries:
ICNA Relief Mobile Pantry – Tempe
Extended Hands Food Bank – Fountain Hills
Sahara Food Pantry – Gilbert
Arizona Friends of Homeless - Phoenix
Three Ways to Participate
• In-Person Drop-Off
• Amazon Registry
• Cash Donation via PayPal
Help us make the 15th annual food drive our most successful yet.
If your mosque, church, temple, school, workplace, or community organization is participating, find out how you can contribute. If they aren't participating yet, please share this information and encourage them to get involved.
And you don't need to belong to an organization to make a difference. Individuals and families are encouraged to participate, too.
Together, we can honor the memory of 9/11 by turning remembrance into service—and service into hope for our neighbors.

A couple of pics from our visit to the Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley on Sunday for the "American Muslims: 250 Years of Contributions" documentary screening. Since a number of folks had never been inside a Mosque before, we had a tour afterwards!
