Today we honor the feast day of St. Augustine of Hippo. Known for his autobiography, "Confessions," he's credited with laying the foundation for modern Christian thought. He is the patron saint of theologians and converts to Christianity, as well as of the Augustinian Order.

Blessed feast days!

We celebrated two feast days in our community over the weekend. On Saturday we celebrated with Sr. Regina Shroeder, who made her profession in June 1960, and serves as our procurator. Yesterday, we celebrated with Sr. Kimberly Prohaska, who professed in June 1993, and who currently serves as prioress.

Today we honor the Feast of St. Jane Frances de Chantal.

Despite being widowed as a young mother, St. Jane Frances persevered through devoted faith to raise her children and support her family. Through the guidance of St. Francis de Sales, she later founded the Congregation of the Visitation of Holy Mary, an order known for showing mercy to people who were sick and in need.
