On Saturday, the Sisters attended Fr. Joseph’s ordination anniversary party! We are so thankful and blessed to have Fr. Joseph serving as our chaplain. We thought we’d share a few photos of Fr. Joseph from over the years. Congrats, Father!

Inspirational monastics and saints line the chapel of St. Scholastica Monastery in the delicate but brightly hued stained glass windows. They remind all who see them of the history of monasticism throughout Europe and the steadfastness of early church believers. One such saint resides on the glass of a window on the right hand side of the chapel, and today is his feast day. The Venerable Bede lived at the Monastery of St. Paul in Jarrow, England. His life at the monastery began when he was around seven years of age when he was entrusted to the abbot. The influence of monastic life on his genius yielded a mind bent towards not only the things of God, but the world of creation, the minds of God’s creation, and the writings of those great minds. He studied science, philosophy, history, and wrote influential works of his time period as well as works we still read today. St. Bede, may your influence teach us to love your holy Word, to think deeply, and learn from the natural world around us. Pray for us!

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Whether you celebrate on Thursday or Sunday, the fact remains that we celebrate a risen Lord who has ascended to sit at the right hand of the Father, who intercedes for us, and who will return in glory.
