With the slick roads, we won’t be able to gather in person again today. But that’s okay, this is a great opportunity to come together as a family and spend time digging into God’s Word.

Bible Story
Daniel and his friends were taken far away from their home to live in Babylon, where they were chosen to serve in the king’s palace. The king wanted them to be trained in his ways and ordered that they eat the same rich food and drink the same wine that he did.
But Daniel knew that eating the king’s food would not honor God. Even though he was young and far from home, Daniel decided in his heart to obey God. He respectfully asked the palace official if he and his friends could eat vegetables and drink water instead.
The official was worried that they might become weak, but Daniel suggested a test. After ten days, Daniel and his friends looked healthier and stronger than the others who ate the king’s food. God blessed their obedience by giving them wisdom, knowledge, and understanding beyond anyone else in the palace.
Because Daniel trusted God and chose obedience, God used him and his friends in powerful ways, even in a place where it was difficult to follow Him.
Christ Connection
Daniel chose to obey God no matter what, and God blessed Daniel and his friends. In an even greater way, Jesus always obeyed God. He came to earth and followed God’s plan to save sinners. Jesus never sinned, but He died the death we deserve. Jesus rose from the dead, and those who trust in Him receive God’s forgiveness and blessing.
