Good morning BPMC! It’s Friday!
Tomorrow is Halloween, which is a holiday I struggle to understand. For some reason our culture is fascinated with death and darkness and gore and vampires and witches and ghosts and goblins. This is the one day a year when people invite the Kingdom of darkness into their lives and pretend it is worth celebrating. I choose, instead, to celebrate life and light and Jesus. I welcome the Kingdom of Light into my life and reject the lure of darkness. I suggest we all do the same.
This Sunday morning our message is entitled “ Live or die-you choose.” It is taken from Phillipians 3:13-14 and is Paul’s formula for successful living. This is a great study for us, filled with great practical advise from the apostle Paul.
Sunday’s coming and it won’t be the same without you!

Good Monday morning BPMC!
Yesterday was a great day at the most historic church in the parish! The music was inspirational, the fellowship was precious, and the worship was spirit-filled. “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness."(Psalm 84:10)
It is a blessing to be able to spend a little time at the Oasis each Sunday morning and it is a special blessing to spend it with you!
Today the sun arises and our week awaits. Life is calling for each of us to get up, get out, and get going. The demands of the flesh are never-ending, and God’s call to crucify the flesh is likewise never-ending. “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."(Gal. 5:25) Let us fight the battle between flesh and spirit with courage, determination, and purpose. And when we feel weak, let us be reminded: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Phillipians 4:13)
May God richly bless us all this week!

Good morning BPMC! It’s Friday!
“Tigers and hippos and bears, oh my! “ That’s our topic for Sunday morning and is taken from James 1:15 and Galations 5:24. I am excited about this message and hope to share it with a full church. Reach out to someone this week and invite them to join you for a trip to the “zoo”. Promise them smiles and fellowship and love and acceptance . You’ll be surprised at how many people are desperate for those very things. And I’ll try to protect them from the tigers and hippos and bears!

Good Monday morning BPMC!
Cool mornings, mild afternoons, and God on his throne. Life on this earth doesn’t get any better than this! The cool mornings make me want to stay under the covers. The mild afternoons make me want to get out and be productive. God on his throne makes me face life with confidence and courage. We have no idea what we may face this day, but we are promised by God that “all things work together for good”. We are further told that “God is not slack concerning his promises”. The one who sees “the little sparrow fall” has his eyes on us and will “never leave us or forsake us”. He has my day under control and if I can just get out of this bed I’ll embrace it with excitement!
May God richly bless us all this week!

Please join me in praise of our merciful Father and his hand of protection. Yesterday my granddaughter was rear ended at a redlight by another teenager. She had a young girl in the car with her that she was babysitting. None of the three were injured in any way because of God’s protection. What might have been tragedy for three families, is nothing more than inconvenience. To God be the glory. My prayer requests are often private, but I want my praise to be public!

Good morning BPMC! It’s Friday!
I spent several hours a day for three days this week in preparation of Sunday’s message, but by midweek God impressed upon my heart, I was preparing the wrong message from the wrong scripture for the wrong purpose. He led me kicking and screaming into Luke 16:19-31. I apologize for the topic, but God is in charge.
Last Sunday we talked about heaven and this Sunday we will look at the alternative. Because Jesus understood Hell so much, He was willing to die to deliver us from that fate. Salvation becomes all the sweeter when we recognize what we were saved from.
In his discourse on Hell, Jesus reveals a truth we often overlook. I hope to move us from fear and dread to a clearer understanding of that beautiful truth. Bring your Bible. I hope we’ll get a deeper appreciation of what it offers to us.
