🌮⚔️ TACO TUESDAY + THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT! ⚔️🌮

What a Tuesday we have ahead of us!

Today is Week 6 of our Whole Armor of God series, and we are SO excited to have Tammy Toney-Butler back with us to share The Sword of the Spirit — the Word of God! ❤️

And since it’s the first Tuesday of the month… IT’S TACO TUESDAY! 🌮🙌

We’ll be serving beef tacos, rice and refried beans, but as always, the food is only part of what happens at Lions Park.

We come to feed people.
We come to love people.
We come to pray with people.
And most importantly, we come to remind them that Jesus has not forgotten them.

“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” — Ephesians 6:17

Come hungry. Come as you are. ❤️

❤️🛡️ I MAY HAVE BEEN QUIET ON FACEBOOK… BUT GOD HAS NOT BEEN QUIET AT LIONS PARK! 🛡️❤️

I just realized I haven’t shared our last TWO Tuesdays with you — and there is way too much goodness not to share! 🙌

Over the past two weeks, our Faith Defenders family has continued showing up at Lions Park doing what God called us to do — loving people right where they are.

🍽️ Hot meals have been served.
❤️ Relationships have been strengthened.
🙏 Prayers have been prayed.
🪑 Tables and chairs have given our friends a place to sit, eat and fellowship.
🛡️ And our Whole Armor of God series has continued!

Last week, Steve shared about the Shield of Faith and opened up through his own testimony about what faith looks like when life hits HARD.

And this past Tuesday… BUFFALO! ❤️ Our Prayer Sergeant stepped up and shared his testimony for more than 20 minutes — and people LISTENED. He held their attention and spoke straight from his heart. Buffalo, we are so proud of you!

And through all of it, our volunteers just keep showing up.

Setting up. Cooking. Carrying. Serving. Cleaning. Praying. Hugging. Listening. Laughing. And reminding people that they matter.

Some of our Love in Action family are away right now and WE MISS THEM — but others have stepped in and stepped UP. That’s what a ministry family does. ❤️

🚒🇺🇸 THE 9/11 STAIR CLIMB CHALLENGE IS ON — AND THESE GUYS ARE SHOWING UP! 🇺🇸🚒

On September 13th, Buffalo and Steve will take on the 110-story 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort in honor of the 343 firefighters who gave their lives on September 11, 2001.

And the support coming in already is AWESOME! ❤️

🔥 Buffalo has raised around $600!
🔥 Steve has raised around $650!

That’s approximately $1,250 raised between them already — and we’re not done yet!

Every donation made through their challenge will go directly to Faith Defenders Motorcycle Ministry to support our homeless outreach here in Southwest Florida — helping us provide meals, supplies, prayer, encouragement and assistance to those living on the streets.

Whether you sponsor one of our climbers for $5, $25, $50, $100 or more, every single dollar makes a difference.

We are incredibly proud of both of these men for stepping up to honor the fallen while turning their climb into an opportunity to serve others.

💧❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO SUNSHINE ACE HARDWARE! ❤️💧

We are incredibly grateful for another generous water donation for Faith Defenders and the people we serve each week!

What makes this one even more special is that they didn’t have enough water in inventory—so they ordered it specifically for us! 🙌 That is truly going above and beyond.

With this Florida heat, we are going through an incredible amount of water keeping everyone hydrated, and this blessing could not have come at a better time.

Thank you Karen, Amanda, and the entire Sunshine Ace Hardware team for continuing to support our mission. You are helping us love and serve our homeless community in such a tangible way. ❤️
