This weekend (August 29 and 30), we will begin worship with a Hymn Sing! Come prepared with your favorite hymn to sing together. There are just two quick rules: the hymn must be found in our pew hymnal, and you must have the hymn number ready to give to the Pastor. Come raise your voice in worship as we sing some of our favorite hymns together!

Empathy is a crucial but underused relational skill. It's about seeing the world from someone else's perspective and communicating your understanding back to them. It benefits the person giving it and receiving it. That's why we are launching a book study of The Gift of Empathy from Stephen Ministries to help anyone grow as empathizers. You don't have to be a counselor or an elder to participate in this study. No matter what our comfort level is in this area, all of us can grow in our ability to empathize and enjoy the benefits of this transformative way of relating.

Lori Schwan, Julie Berchtold and Lee Berchtold look forward to facilitating 11 sessions on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30pm at St. Michael from September 9 to November 11. The next session of GriefShare will begin on Saturday, September 26 from 9:00am to 11:00am in Pastor Dave's conference room. The conference room is in the administration and school building directly behind the church. Anyone who has suffered a loss can attend. GriefShare helps the participants navigate though the most painful events in life, the loss of a loved and cherished family member or friend. If you feel this could benefit you, please go to GriefShare.org and sign up for the session listed for St. Michael Lutheran Church. We look forward to walking hand-in-hand with you on your grief journey. If you have already attended, but still feel a void, feel free to register again.
