"Shawn, Rufus ... I understand that you both REALLY want to attend Sunday Worship, Sunday School, and Kids Church this week, but we wany everyone to stay safe and warm.

Next Sunday at Kids Church, we will learn about the Holy Spirit. Parents can show their child the three-minute "Hey Yo!" Jesus video about the Holy Spirit.
Parents can help their child read out-loud John 14:26.

"The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in Jesus' name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything Jesus has said to you."

Oh, dear. Yes, we broke the news to Children's Ministry mascot Shawn the Sheep that Sunday's Chili Cook-Off and Kids' Dessert Bake-Off is postponed due to inclement weather. As you can see, that news made Shawn sad.

But we explained to Shawn that the word "postpone" means "to take place at a time later than first planned." Yes, Shawn, we will have the Chili Cook-Off and Kids' Dessert Bake-Off at a later time and date (TBD). As you can see, that news made Shawn very happy.

The PUMC Children’s Ministry had their first Fruit of the Spirit Bible Study last Wednesday night from 6:15-7:00pm as part of our regular Worship-Meal-Bible Fuel UP! Everyone is invited to join us.
Because many PUMC children attend our Wednesday Night Worship & Bible Studies, Mr. Nick polled them last week on what foods they would like for Wednesday Meals.

Kids: “Spaghetti.”
Mr. Nick: “Would that be the spaghetti that the Disciples Sunday School class makes?”
Kids: “The spaghetti from last time.”
Mr. Nick: “That’s the Disciples class. I’ll ask them. What else?”
Kids: “Hot dogs … Hamburger sliders … Mac N Cheese … Waffles …”
Mr. Nick: “Waffles?”

Earlier that day Shawn the Sheep, our Children’s Ministry mascot, had requested waffles.

Mr. Nick: “Did Shawn put you up to this?”

Shawn had requested waffles and grass. Mr. Nick told him that grass wouldn’t work. When Shawn protested, Mr. Nick replied, “No, Shawn. Caesar Salad Dressing won’t help.”
Shawn’s friend Rufus the Owl requested wings. Mr. Nick thinks Rufus was joking.
Shawn’s friend Huldah the Sloth said she doesn’t eat fast food.

For 2026, the PUMC children at Kids Church are volunteering to read the week’s Bible story form the Hey-O Bible Story book.

No child is forced to read out loud. Every child who wants to read will get a turn. The children help each other out with any difficulty.
