Thought for the Day

In a world that constantly tells us to stand out, to be noticed, the idea of shining can feel very self-focused. We are encouraged to chase applause, validation, and visibility. But there is a quieter, deeper kind of light—one that doesn’t point back to us at all. This perspective reframes what it means to live with purpose. It suggests that our lives are not meant to be spotlights aimed inward, but windows—clear, humble, and open—through which something greater can be seen.

Tomorrow's sermon comes out of our Gospel lesson, John 14: 1-14

Jesus is with his disciples the night before his crucifixion. He's giving some last-minute teachings when the disciple Thomas challenges him.

"Show us the Father. How can we know the way unless you do?"

We have been known to throw down the gauntlet ourselves.

What is the answer?

Let's explore. Let's talk about it.

Tomorrow morning at 9:30. New Hope Lutheran.

Come, let us worship and bow down.

In Him,

Pastor Craig

Sunday's sermon will draw from the 23rd Psalm and John 10, both of which speak to Christ as the Good Shepherd.

In the middle of the Psalm, King David, the writer, says that this Good Shepherd will keep the fear of evil away from us. Mix this with the care of sheep and what do you get?

Come Sunday and we can talk about it.

We will also be blessed with the presence of a New Hope church founding member, Donna Coffman. She will give a short presentation on New Hope Church's start-up during our fellowship after the service. Mrs. Coffman will give a longer and more detailed presentation at a future date, yet to be decided.

Hope to see you. New Hope Lutheran, 22200 Foresthill Road. Service begins at 9:30.

Come. Let us worship Him.

New Hope has a congregational member who refers to close up encounters with the Almighty as "God Winks".

We have a scriptural reading which speaks the same.

On Road to Emmaus, two Christ believers are walking, traveling back home from Jerusalem. They had watched the crucifixion of Jesus. Any hopes of salvation from Rome's cruel political rule are dashed.

During their walking journey, they are joined by a stranger.....

You'll find the story in Luke 20, verses 13 to 35.

Hope you can join us to talk about it, to worship Him, and to partake of the Communion sacrament.

New Hope Lutheran, 22200 Foresthill Road. Worship begins there tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.

The sermon title alone gives a broad hint of what the sermon is about.

Ezekiel's bones, in Chapter 37.

His job as a Prophet is to be the mouthpiece of God. He doesn't want the job. His message is doom and gloom.

His Message - 'The Babylonians will burn down Jerusalem and take Jewish prisoners as slaves into Babylon. Solomon's beautiful temple will be destroyed.'

Then, lo and behold, God places Ezekiel in a large valley, a valley filled with dry bones.

Why? What's the message this time? And what does it possibly have to do with us today?

New Hope Lutheran, 22200 Foresthill Road, Sunday morning at 9:30.
Come. Worship Him.

John's Gospel, Chapter 9, describes Jesus' healing a man, blind from birth.

The Chapter speaks about being spiritually blind and how to be healed of it. It speaks of how God's plan places a man blind from birth into Jesus' pathway to teach us everlasting truths today.

In this season of Lent, join us in our worship. New Hope Lutheran, Sunday morning, 9:30
