As we continue through this Holy week, the specifics of each day are sometimes glossed over. Today, Wednesday is called Spy Wednesday or Holy Wednesday, because it is the day that commemorates the day Judas Iscariot agreed to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. It is called “Spy Wednesday” because Judas began acting as an informant against Jesus, setting in motion the events that would lead to the arrest, crucifixion, and resurrection of Christ. This day matters because it highlights both the sorrow of betrayal and the path of Jesus toward the cross.
While many are focusing on the resurrection, don’t miss all that happens before that. Contemplate how despite our best efforts, we betray Jesus as well, perhaps unintentionally… but still.
Are we true informants of the gospel that lead others to Jesus or do we betray in word and deed causing others to think, ‘why bother?’
Lets use today to examine our hearts. I am.

…Our whole purpose is to glorify Him, to remain rooted in Him like a tree by streams of water. Let’s continue to look to Him to provide everything we need.
