We invite you to join us for our quarterly Choral Evensong for the Faithful Departed this Thursday (28 May) beginning at 6:00 PM. While many folks are aware of the annual practice of praying for the repose of the souls on All Souls Day, it's important to remember our obligation to always pray for the souls who have died in the Lord. You are welcome to bring a picture of those you love who have died in the Lord, and their favorite entree to share with others afterwards.

Our priest is happy to bless your horseshoes after Mass today in which we shall commemorate Saint Dunstan and his companions. You can read a delightful story from our Patrimony about him and the tradition of hanging a horseshoe on the wall of your home at this link:

Legend has it St Dunstan was visited by the Devil and one of the great traditions of folklore was born: why we nail a horseshoe over a door to protect our homes from evil spirits.

Many people are unaware of the remarkable diversity within the Roman Catholic Church. After all, the word “catholic” means universal. The Roman Catholic Church is comprised of many “rites.” Rites are not different religions or denominations. They are different liturgical, theological, spiritual, and disciplinary inheritances by which the Church celebrates the same Christian mystery in distinct historical traditions—while remaining in full communion with Rome. It was, therefore, such a joy to celebrate the Mass of the Solemnity of the Ascension last night with a Deacon from the Ruthenian Catholic Church (he is wearing different vestments from those who belong to the Roman Catholic Church). What remarkable dignity the Roman Catholic Church expresses by honoring these various “rites” as full members of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic faith. Many folks are unaware of the breadth and depth of the Blessings God seeks to pour out upon His creation. We have in the Catholc faith, therefore, the beautiful "Book of Blessings" used by our priests to Bless all manner of conditions. Today, the Revenant Motorcycle Club of Flowery Branch (GA) asked our Priest to Bless the motorcycles of their club!
