was founded by James T. In 1941, he was consecrated to the episcopal leadership by Bishop in PAW. Upon his transition, his nephew, Bishop J.V. Lomax began to lead this great organization until his demise in 2001. His successor, Bishop Samuel L. Redden led until 2005. The organization is now led by Bishop Herman Genwright, who pastors the Headquarters church in Washington, DC. The Vice Chairman is

Bishop Marvin W. who is Senior Pastor of the HCCOC of Florence, SC, affectionally known as "the greatest church in the universe". Bishop Alexander is the husband of one wife, Teacher Ruth Alexander. Together they, biologically parent two children: Missionary Makeisha (James) Washington and Elder JayR (Latoya) Alexander. The Highway Christian Church of Christ is a place of where surely the glory of the Lord dwells. We are known for our ability to make things happen with our praise. We love the word of God and our Bishop, as well as our ministerial staff, provides good preaching and teaching with clear understanding. We are a ministry on the move. We hold fast the promises God has given us and we work diligently and with excellence.

With hearts bowed in sorrow yet lifted in hope, we join the countless voices across the Kingdom in honoring the life, legacy, and Apostolic mantle of His Eminence, The Most Reverend Richard Jerome Pender, Sr. A faithful shepherd, steadfast leader, and servant of God, Bishop Pender poured wisdom, grace, and unwavering dedication into the Lord’s Church and His people for generations.

We, Bishop Marvin W Alexander Sr. & the Highway Christian Church of Christ, Inc., extend our deepest condolences and fervent prayers to the Pender family, the Beth-El Churches of Christ, Inc., the College of Bishops, clergy, and all whose lives were touched by his extraordinary ministry. Though Heaven has received a great General, earth will forever bear the imprint of his labor, leadership, and love.

May the God of all comfort strengthen every grieving heart and grant peace during this season of transition. We thank God for the life and legacy of a true Kingdom giant whose works will continue to speak throughout the generations.
